Really nice classic dinner. I trully miss when places like this dotted the east coast. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and cooked perfectly. The home fries had just the right amount of browning and coffee tasted like it was just prepared. I would happily return if in the area.

Cafe on the Common has decent sandwiches and related beverages located next to Waltham's main common. I was here for a quick lunch before heading to a local museum; the turkey sandwich on whole wheat was tasty and served promptly.
My wife and I wanted a fun breakfast date before work. We went in to a pleasant enough atmosphere. It felt like I was walking into a cafe that has existed for a long time (my wife and I loved the aesthetic!
She got a cold brew, I got an iced tea, we both shared a breakfast pastrie and a ham egg and cheese sandwich.
The sandwich is $12 for an unseasoned painfully below average scrambled egg tossed on store-bought sourdough bread with some okay cheese and barely any ham. The iced tea tasted like water, the cold was pretty okay.
In all sincerity, you could go to McDonald's, spend 1/3 the money that we did and get a tastier breakfast experience. The sandwich was worse than what most people can make at home, the tea looked and tasted like water woth food coloring in it. The pastry and coffee was okay.
Ultimately I wouldn't come back here for anything more than the experience and atmosphere.
I asked for a griilled cheese and said it would be 15 mins, and im like ok thats ok ill wait. i also order a very hot tea. the grilled comes out in like 4 minutes? so clearly lying. then I asked for 2 cubes for the ice cubes i asked for to cool the drink. 50% and a separate credit card transation. I thought it was a joke. it wasnt, then s/he glared at me and scolded me for joking about it. SURREAL bad
It’s an ok local coffee shop. Atmosphere and service is good but feels like diner food quality and coffee. Not special coffee could be better.
When I pay to have someone make my coffee I don't want to do anything but drink it after it's handed to me not finish their job.
Service was polite but slow. One person running the entire place. Appreciated the ample seating options and power outlets, but there was a persistent clanking noise (not related to construction, seemed to be coming from the air vents) that made me unable to stay. Food was expensive for what I got.

Good coffee. Space to hang out while waiting for car repairs
The staff are rude and unpleasant. They seem resentful to be of service. While I like the food and the coffee, it can not make up for the very slow service, the rudeness and the general unkindness. I work close so I have gone several times. They seem nice to some people and rude to others so... what's that about? The man with the long ponytail should work in a morgue - that would be his people.
Coffee was decent but buddy at the counter thinks he’s to cool to greet a customer
My favorite café in Waltham, coffee taste like it’s supposed to, very kind and nice stuff. If you do like coffee, you definitely should try it.

Inviting and comfortable atmosphere with ample seating in 2 adjoining rooms! Many regulars. Simple breakfast menu but unique offerings. Waltham fog tea was delicious! Lunch begins at 11 am. Nice view of lush Waltham common. A little pricey.
