I guess I would say it's a bit inconsistent. We went to the bar, and neither bartender noticed us for a few minutes, so we went to the host stand and got a table. And the table service was great! Emily (iirc) took good care of us and the server support were also great, kept our drinks full and made sure we had everything we needed.
Likewise the food ranged from meh to great. The worst chicken Caesar and the best fish and chips I've had in a few years.
Their drink selection is pretty good too.
I don't want this to be interpreted as net negative. I've been twice now and I'll go again when I want a tasty but low-pressure dinner and drinks.
we had reservations at 7:30p we sat down and waited 15 minutes and had to go ask the hosts and they acted as if they had no idea we were there or who our server was. they got the attention of our server, and told her she needed to tend to our table. she looked over, smiled, and then walked away. she came back 5 minutes later with waters. she had to come back and confirm our appetizers since she forgot them. the meals came and there was a hair in my son's food. they replaced it and apologized but still charged us.
Great beer menu, mixed drinks were also good. Burgers & seafood good.
Been to Anchors 3 times since getting to the area. Food value and quality has been great!!! Service, hit or miss, but for the value all good!! For the owner....get your pos system up to current times...hand written checks, servers using calculators to figure tax, etc....come on....it will pay for itself in a couple years!! Make your staffs jobs easier and add Way more Sales to your top line!!
NEVER order the veggie stir-fry!
Remember La Choy chop suey from the can? That dumped on a pile of rice with half a bottle of Chung King brown stir-fry sauce with three table spoons of salt tossed on top to hide the taste.
Hands down the worst dish ever served to me. However if you like fried balony on wonder bread with Grey poop on it you may enjoy it.

I sat down at the bar. The female bartender stopped, looked at me, and continued past me! After being ignored by all bartenders, I left the restaurant. They obviously did not want or need my business.

New facility. We were looking for an old tavern.

We stopped here on a road trip looking for a dinner spot halfway home. It had a lot of interesting options on the menu, loads of beers on tap and was decent value.
We had the Ruben and the Southwestern Chicken sandwich (grilled not fried). Both were quite excellent overall. They both had a bot too much sauce, so were a bit messy to eat. But they were well cooked and the flavors were great.
I was struggling between two beer choices and the friendly bartender offered two of her favorite NEIPAs and one was on my short-list. I went with it and it was quite tasty. Maine beer company's Lunch beer. Interesting flavor.

The food was pretty good but it took FOREVER to get our food and when it did come out, half of the table was incorrect.
