Heidi’s is a GEM! Delicious food, super reasonable prices, and beyond great service (food comes super fast and staff are the best-- especially the owner, George, who I always look forward to talking to). They’re also open early which is great for families who have little kids who wake up at the crack of dawn! I don’t usually leave reviews but feel compelled to leave this one because I love Heidi’s so much.

This is clearly a diner that has regulars but welcomed my 3yo and myself as newcomers. We were greeted with a smile and friendly service. The menu met all expectations of a small diner and the eggs benedict I had was superb. They served my 3yo a single pancake with butter on the side which she enjoyed spreading out. I would give this place 5/5 just for the fact that when I ordered an apple juice for her, the server poked a hole in the lid and stuck a straw in it. This guy knows kids!!

If you like diners, don’t miss this place for breakfast if you’re around the Waltham/Newton area. Best homefries I can remember…irregular shapes/sizes, crusty on one or more sides, soft inside, with bits of sautéed onions clinging to most pieces, and nicely seasoned. Worth the price of the whole meal. Toast that comes out hot and buttered with the meal…something most restaurants have difficulty doing. Moist scrambled eggs and generous portions of bacon or sausage. All for $12.50, including tea/coffee, and a seat at the counter (or table). Great service too!! Oh…and the owner comes over and checks on you, making sure you’re happy.

The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. Went with my stepson and granddaughter and they were very accommodating to make sure we were seated comfortably. The coffee was on point and the food was hot and tasty. The owner George came over to chat with us. He was very sweet. We will definitely be back.

Hello! I know Heidi's has won an award for nine straight years, but in keeping with the premise that there's always room for improvement, here we go...
1. One of my pet peeves are when the chairs and tables wobble. This should be an easy fix, but the owner and waitresses don't seem to notice. The tables are especially annoying, as my drink spills all over the table after one wobble. LET'S FIX THIS!
2. I also noticed that when the waitresses clean-off a table, they wipe the food/crumbs from the table onto the floor. That way, the customers walk on the food and the food gets ground into the floor and the soles of their shoes. HELLO!! Might it be possible to wipe the food from the tables into some kind of receptacle to avoid it ending-up on the floor?
3. Lastly, after I finish my breakfast, I have to wait FOREVER for my check. So, instead of waiting for the waitress to bring me the bill, I get up and walk to the cashier's booth and give the waitress the money. This saves me a good 10 - 15 minutes. I have things to do!
