Not Your Average Joe's - Waltham

We love this place. It's a family friendly environment we know our kids will always like. My only thing is I'm really bummed they took away the penne alla vodka. It was my favorite go to dish. The pasta alla norma isn't good.

We were excited to try the chicken pot pie, but the carrots weren't cooked enough and both were not served hot. I believe that might have been our server, Savannah, who was nice but left us hanging more than once for long periods of time. I asked the front person to find her for us. My friend and I go there a lot and usually the servers are awesome.

We love eating at the bar at NYAJ. The wait staff are great and the food is reliably good.

Great food and exemplary service. Dippy is a polished professional and a great guy. Lucky to have him.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my son's 17th birthday. Our waiter was great- friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was to our liking. Our food was delicious - we had the whipped feta appetizer to start which was phenomenal and all our entrees were great. For dessert we had the peanut butter thing to celebrate and my kids loved it.

We like this place and don't go often enough. It has a wide variety with something to please everyone. We all love the bread they serve...worth the carbs. I had the Haddock, very good. Comfortable environment. Not too noisy.

The entire staff is terrific from desk hostess to bartenders. Janet & Bella are the real A team at the bar.

You guys have the best carrot cake I have ever had and I've had quite a few,  and the Cape Cod Ruben is delicious. We always have it because neither of us eat meat and it's a nice chance to get the sort-of-Ruben-taste. 

Fun spot with a good variety of eats. Food came very quickly. We got the Cape Cod Reuben Sandwich and the Korean Bowl

Friendly atmosphere and our waitress Marlo was super nice. I would recommend the cheesesteak egg rolls. They were delicious.

Service is SLOW- We grabbed our refills from the bar ourselves, food was decent, but they weren't even busy that night

I was pretty excited about the meatloaf, but it was rubbery, like it had been overcooked. My waitress started off great, but then pretty much disappeared unless I flagged her down. All in all, a disappointment from an out of town visitor.

Waitress was pleasant but mostly unavailable. Food was good, but certainly nothing special. Salt level was on the high side. If they want to be an alternate and peer to chilis or Applebees they've succeeded.

I have had a few foods at Not Your Average Joe's that are much spicier than I am able to tolerate. In the past I have been unable to eat a salmon dish and yesterday I had the same unfortunate experience with the super crunchy salad. After speaking with the manager Caitlin today, hopefully the mystery is solved so that I know what to avoid in the future. She explained that there is red pepper flakes in the orange dressing on the super crunchy salad. I confirmed that when I eat at Not Your Average Joe's I always request the bowl with oil and cheese without the red pepper flakes for this very reason.  It was a pleasure speaking with Caitlin and a great relief that she could identify what was in the food that was causing me such distress. We like Not Your Average Joe's for family get-togethers and now I won't worry about continuing to eat there because I know what to ask to eliminate.
