Food and service have been excellent the several times I have been. Both the staff and kitchen have been great. The addition of a happy hour menu is a really nice addition as well!

Great spot for bottomless brunch. Tapas style menu has a bit of everything. Coffee and drinks are flavorful. Staff are friendly and polite.

Another great experience at The Painted Burro. Our waitress Samantha was exceptionally gracious and timely with our orders and assisted in our choices. You must try the appetizer Cherizo. It is amazing! 2/14/2026

We had the best experience tonight at the Painted Burro, Waltham to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The atmosphere was serine, mysterious, and welcoming as you gaze among the unique decor of large glass jugs through subtle lighting. It was delightfully decorated with red and pink heart shaped balloons.
We ordered an assortment of soft shell tacos, our favorite shrimp with sautéed onion. They were so delicious we ordered a second round. The nachos are a great appetizer.
The food is hard to describe— it’s uniquely surprising due to the assortment of combined ingredients. You will have to experience it to comprehend its complexity. The owner is a genius chef.
Our waitress was exceptional— attentive and courteous. We are looking forward to our next visit.

If you like authentic Mexican food, don’t miss The Painted Burro in Waltham. We tried their Somerville location and it’s not the same. Go to Waltham. It’s completely different. The food was amazing and service consistent and accommodating. We will plan to return. Their pricing is reasonable and the atmosphere and decor is what you would expect. It’s located in the same newly built office complex area near Market Basket off Route 95 South.

my family & i came here for my dad’s birthday & it was the best choice! the atmosphere is friendly and fun upon entering. the food was delicious, we all enjoyed their empanadas and i personally enjoyed their salmon dinner.
we were seated near the bar and had excellent service provided to us by Angela. she’s a skilled bartender & her high quality & friendly service is really what made this dinner!

We've dined at the Brookline location many times for brunch and this just wasn't the same. Food quality wasn't great, I could not drink the cocktail and the server offered to remake it but the three sips I had were essentially straight gin so I didn't want another one and it was still on the bill which I wasn't a little surprised by. If a cocktail is so bad someone doesn't want another and cant drink the one they have, it's courtesy to take it off the bill. I don't think we will return for brunch.
A true gem in Waltham. I wish they had more vegetarian options. The ambience is amazing though. Drinks are great.

The service was slow and awful, the brunch option was not at all explained and every time you ordered a single taco it took 15 mins, this was the most ridiculously overpriced "brunch" I have ever experienced and we left hungry because the food was cold, small and took forever to come out. The waiter was constantly missing, horrible experience will not dine here again.

We really enjoyed the bottomless brunch. The food was delicious and the portions were good. An excellent value at $29. Noise level was surprisingly quiet for a restaurant that was pretty full.
Ludo was amazing! Wonderful service as usual!

This was our first time dining at The Painted Burro in Waltham. Our server suggested the chicken, steak or shrimp fajitas. My son and I decided on steak fajitas and were equally pleased with our choice. Margaritas went tasty! Thank you for an enjoyable dinner. We'll return soon!
