Very decent Chinese restaurant. About as good as you’ll get in Boston. The pork fried rice is excellent, with generous meat and great consistency. Salt and pepper ribs are solid, string beans are as you would expect with nice heat. The Shanghai noodles were pretty good but I preferred the other items on the menu. Scallion pancakes were excellent; very crispy.

As someone grew up in Shanghai, I can confidently say that Shanghai Cuisine in Waltham captures the essence of authentic Shanghainese flavors.
Recommend Shanghai style poached chicken. It was juicy, tender, and served cold with the ginger scallion sauce. I also tried the shredded yellow eel with boiled oil which is one of my favorite Shanghai dishes. The shredded eel was silky and coated in a scallion oil sauce with just a touch of sweetness. It’s balanced and flavorful. The place brought me straight back to the tastes of home.

This is totally not 4.4 rate level. Restaurant has no vibe at all, it’s really just for take out. Tables are super sticky and everything thing around makes you think why this place can survive.
Food generally feel from cheap source. Poor quality without fresh flavor. The crab dumplings has absolutely no crab flavor
