Ordered lunch from here on DoorDash at work. General gso chicken and chicken wings well done. The gso wasn’t spicy enough for my preference but was still good. Would order again but not a must have lock in.

I’ve ordered the Hot Spicy Diced Chicken from this place so many times, and I occasionally dine in as well. It’s honestly the best version of this dish I’ve ever had.
The flavors are perfectly balanced — spicy, numbing, and deeply savory. The chicken stays crispy while being tender inside, and every piece is coated with seasoning in just the right way.
The quality is consistently excellent, no matter when I order. This place has become my go-to spot whenever I crave hot spicy Chinese chicken. Highly recommend!

Had an unpleasant smell of toilet in the restaurant. The store doesn’t seem to be clean. The rice balls in a soup was still frozen inside. The waiter pushed us to order more.

Food is a little bit salty. I found a little piece of fish skin (I think) in a vege dish.

The restaurant and delivery staff were incredibly kind. I accidentally entered the wrong delivery address, but after I called the restaurant, they quickly corrected it. Not only did they make sure my order was delivered to the right place, but they even went the extra mile to bring it farther than the original address—without charging me any additional fees. I’m so grateful for their generosity and excellent service.

Best Shanghai food in Boston. Authentic and old fashioned Shanghai cuisine. The steamed chicken needs reservation and it is worth it. The sauce is the soul! The sweet sour fish is recommended as well. This reminds me of the Sechuan dumpling house in Arlington. Both are good choices for similar type of cuisine. But if you want a bit more authentic and focus on the food, definitely try here. It is also quite family style. Will go to explore more.

this is one of the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever meeten in the past 20+ years of US Chinese restaurant experience. 1, worst food taste !!! taste is very very bad. 2. environment is very very bad, no decoration. you even can see the inside of the restroom from the table. 3. because of so bad experience, only gave 15% tips, BUT found out boss charged 25% more tips by himself without my signature and permission after check the credit card transaction history
replied: after I saw restaurant boss left a feedback on my review, here's what I want to say based on that-- we paid $26 parking fee in boston chinatown in order to enjoy a really good meal, means we don't care about several bucks tips. but you guys are the first chinese restaurant charged customer more money without permission -- I feel shamed and awful as a chinese as you are.
post again: we took home the rest of the food we did not finish in the restaurant, you know what, eventually we threw away directly since nobody wanted to try them again because of bad taste.

First time there but very disappointed at the food quality. Soup dumping and pan fried dumping was terrible with bad pork taste. The pan fried dumping was very hard and meat has no taste. Don’t think I will go back there again.

Initially I was planning to go to a Taiwanese restaurant in Newton but ended up coming to Shanghai Cuisine due to some power issue on the other one. The place was not clean at all, I can even seea lot of mice droppings on the bathroom floor… food was very salty, overall not a good dining experience

It’s not a good experience. The lotus pool by moonlight dish has bad smell, it seems like a fishy smell….Because the kicthen is close early, so the owner or manager guy just urgently asking for to pay the bill and tip as soon as possible even though it’s just 8:30pm? And when he feels the tip is less than 18%(but more than 15%), he will also shows a very unhappy face. So I don’t think I’ll go there again.
Was in the traveling in the area and needed some sort of stir fried vegetable in my body. The chicken and broccoli, rice, and hot tea was perfect.

I recently moved and used to be a couple minutes away from this place and will really miss it. The servings are very generous and the prices are fair. A nice hidden gem if you’re ever on moody st. It’s almost always empty inside but don’t let that fool you!
