Our tapas meal at Silea was a nice experience. We were there early in the evening and it was very quiet. We chose four dishes for the two of us to share: artichoke and mushroom crostini, cauliflower and broccoli fritters, octopus, and beef tenderloin. All were well prepared, although the octopus had more potatoes and less octopus than we would have liked. Food was solidly good, but nothing amazing. Service was very good and attentive.
Flavorful, wonderful portions, good service. Continues to be one of our go to restaurant experiences.
Very good service and atmosphere but food was subpar. We ordered several tapas and the meat (chimichurri steak) and seafood (octopus and salmon) in each was overcooked to the point of being tough and chewy. The vegetable dishes may have sat under heat a lamp too long. “Crispy” cauliflower was soggy, and asparagus was limp and wrinkly. The sangria was bland. We did enjoy the deserts - flan and chocolate lava. Overall, I was really disappointed. I had not been to Solea for many years and I recall having excellent food there. On a Saturday night the restaurant was half empty, though Moody Street was bustling. Hopefully Solea will start focusing on quality ingredients and careful preparation, otherwise I don't see how it can stay open with so many very good/excellent dining options in the area.
The service was a bit slow for a Friday night, but the food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the ceviche, chicken empanada, mussels, Brussels sprouts, and roasted cauliflower. Each dish was fantastic! The drinks were wonderful, too!
This place used to be great. What a disappointment this visit was. Except for the lamb, all dishes were overcooked and the service was awful - practically nonexistent.
The restaurant had great options for vegetarians. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the small dishes as well as dessert options.
Excellent tapas with plenty but of gluten-free options, including rolls and dessert.
Good spot to grab dinner.
We used to come here not too infrequently many years ago. We decided to revisit this past week to meet with some friends. The place was clearly understaffed, and it was hard to get timely responses. A plate at our table was unclean. The food was just very sub par. No flavor. The vegetarian paella was extremely bland. Nothing we ordered was good.
Our waiter had quite a few tables, but he was extremely friendly and we never felt rushed. The food was delicious and plentiful.

This is our second time here. We were disappointed that there was no change in menu. Overall food and atmosphere was good. Lamb chops and Spanish sausages were awesome.
Drinks were average.
Service was pleasant but really slow and subpar. I had to ask for water 3 times. We waited 10- 15 minutes in between courses for our server though the restaurant was almost empty.
It was Father's Day so we expected it to be busy. They had 2 bands playing there which was very noisy. We sat by the window by the bar. They were short staffed - ordering took a long time - we wait quite a while for our paella only to be told it was never ordered. The waiter was rude about it and another dish we wanted done differently. We had been fans but won't be back.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant. There’s a reason that it’s been in business for over 20 years. I had my first date with my husband here over 20 years ago and I still returned back several times a year. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, and wonderful service.
It's a pity, but the food was outrageously bad. And the service was o par with food quality. Do not recommend at all.
Three couples eating at Solea Thursday night, June 5, 2025. In general the food was good, not great. All dishes rated from B- to B+. Service was excellent. My big complaint is with the very limited beer list. There were 4 beers on draft, 1 lager and 3 IPA's. There were another 4-6 beers available in bottles and cans, but, again, there was a poor selection. Nothing amber, brown, or dark. Nothing with any flavor except hoppy IPA's. An amber Dos Equis or Modelo would have been nice. Or a pale or amber ale. Or, a Sam Adams lager or Summer Ale. I ordered a claimed "pale ale" in a can and it had no flavor. Just a waste. There are so many good local breweries offering a wide selection of beers. There is just no excuse for having such a limited beer menu with such a limited range today.
