Excellent food! However, you have a major issue with timing in between courses. This is the second time we were left waiting for almost 40 minutes for our meals after we were served our appetizers. You need to work on that!

All of the food was delicious. The cheese board was a tad sparse, but still tasty. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the desserts were great. The carrot cake creme brûlée was unique and reminded me of fall. Very tasty sangria.

The food was very good with the exception of the steak which was surprising since I would consider Federal a steak restaurant. We sent back the steak because it was over cooked. When it came out the second time it still was not medium which is how it was ordered based on experience at other steak houses and the servers description.

July 26th 6:30 pm. The host was not friendly at all, so initially we regretted booking The Federal. He barely acknowledged us and mumbled something, so we followed him to our table. I'm not sure why the host was unfriendly (bordering on hostile), but we were pleasantly surprised by the waitress. The food was tasty (all 3 ordered the stuffed shrimp). I forget what starters we ordered, but dessert was the real star. If you like cheesecake, check out the crumbly strawberry cheesecake. Delicious. While not the friendliest or fanciest place, it's adequate. I'd go back.

Hi It was almost empty in the entire restaurant. We sat on the patio and it seems like there is no care taken out there. No flowers nothing, just looks like they stuck a cople of tables out there. Food was fine, linguine vongole was ok the clams had sand in them. Prices are expensive for what it is. It is a corporate restaurant and it shows it. I would never go back.

Ridiculously overpriced given the lackluster food quality, ok service, and basic outdoor patio. For these prices you can eat one of Bostons finest steak or fish houses. My fillet was overcooked, the fries were greasy, and Oscar topping lacked any subtlety or nuance. The salad was the only thing I'd eat again. The service was fine, some days are probably better than others, but the patio is a clear after thought with dead plants, no table cloths lousy tables, and uncomfortable chairs. Go elsewhere.
From the staff to the owner, the customer service is spectacular. Wonderful place, and the food as fresh and perfect as it can be.

I was planet’s surprised to find several well-leveled gluten free options. We had a table of 8 and it was a little tricky to hear everyone with the music but we really enjoyed ourselves.

What's not to love about the Federal? It has such a great vibe, and the food is outstanding. We hadn't been in a while but were greeted by Amanda, who remember our birthdays. Wait what? Top notch service, great music and David Alphonse the owner always stops to chat.

Always a great experience at the door. Kind host people, wait staff is friendly and patient. Support staff responds to special requests like” can I have the water heated up.” Managers always welcoming. And the food is great. From walking in the door to leaving, we feel welcome.
