My boyfriend & I just moved to the area and have had our eye on The Gaff from day 1. we finally made it last night. We went around 5:30 & it was super chilly/windy so we ate inside. lots of bar seating, dark vibe, some TVs. A lot of local, german, & irish beers. A great cocktail menu. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the tacos, both were super tasty. Lots of sauce on the chicken sandwich which i always appreciate.

Had an awesome selection of Oktoberfest beers. Only had the fries to eat, but they were fresh, crispy and perfectly salted. Will be sure to return soon!

So I hate giving any place bad reviews. I'm not a bar person usually but I went with my sister about a year ago. We got about 100$ in drinks and paid with a card sister left a tip on the credit card slip. I had a few dollars in my wallet so I left it because I figured a little more wouldn't hurt. As we were leaving our bartender chased us outside and asked us if everything was ok we said of course it was great. Then she proceeded to aggressively tell us we didn't tip. We felt very bad so gave her another 20$ bill because mistakes can happen. My sister gets back to Florida and sees her credit card statement and low and behold yes she did tip. She left a 15$ tip on the card I left the only 2$ I had then we were meanly harassed for the last 20$ outside the bar. So that's a 37$ tip in total. If the bartender was just a little nicer it wouldn't have been a big deal but it was the fact she was so rude for no reason. Maybe they deal with non tipping college kids or something but we are grown adults. The place was great but I'll never go back there just based on how we were treated . Sorry to the owner that I wrote this but I know this has haunted me far to long I just want to let it go

Convenient location, aesthetic interior, servers are nice. The main issue is the food is either really dry or really salty. The Pub Burger looked promising, but it was so dry and adding more ketchup did not help. Fries were oddly soggy even though they just came out of the fryer. The Mothra drink was ok, it tasted like spiked (Pacific Cooler) Capri Sun. This place has a lot a promise, just needs to improve it's bar food.

Simply the best bar in Waltham, if not the Boston area. Nice, dark, and cozy, just like it should be. The staff makes everyone--EVERYONE--feel welcome and part of the family. Great drinks, incredible beer selection, and some pretty amazing bar food coming out of the tiniest 4X4 kitchen! Lively, fun, and unpretentious.
Me and my friends got threatened by two patrons, and the bar women were only caring about whether we would order more or not. They kept serving the hammered patrons with disregard to the rest customers. Sad service

Well established Irish dive bar on Moody Street. They don't carry Guinness (only Sullivan's), which we surprised about. Staff was friendly. Popcorn to munch on was a nice touch.

A great hole-in-the-wall pub! The Gaff is a great spot for a quick bite, a drink with friends and family, and an all around good time. The restaurant is pretty small and gets a bit noisy when sports or live music are playing. The food and drinks perfectly satisfy a craving for buffalo wings and a burger, and I would recommend just that!
