The Hostess was just not involved when customers came in. It was like you were bothering her when you came in. No hi how are you, no follow me to the table. She picked up the menus turned and just walked away. When she sat us and we said thank you she just turned and walked away again. The restaurant wasn’t even half full so there was no reason to be distracted or just impolite. The food was okay, portions seemed small. Not worth the visit. Our Waitress was good. She was engaging and was quick to get whatever we asked for and always with a smile and personable. To me a Hostess is the face of your restaurant. If they are bad then it’s hard to assume the rest will be better!

We ate at the bar and Billy the bartender was perfect. Jalapeno infused margaritas were great! He was friendly, the food was excellent as always.

Parking: I ended up parking in a lot for a different shipping center next door where most of the businesses were closed. The parking close to the restaurant was packed in a Wednesday night.

Beautiful atmosphere, my server Maddie was good, and the drinks were good. However food for the price was MID at best! I spent $25 on a shrimp salad and got 5 regular sized shrimp. Salmon meal was OK but also not worth its $30 price tag.

This is my third time at the Local. I generally like it and have had good experiences my first two times here. But this past weekend was not terrific. Nothing to do with the food or our waitperson. But the atmosphere was horrible. There is a large section in the back that basically has no lighting. It is painfully obvious given the beautiful chandeliers in the middle of the restaurant over a table. I get that they can't put in more ceiling lights, but this is a problem that is easily rectifiable with simple table lamps that could be charged nightly. We eventually were moved, but it was clear that our waitperson only moved us when a spot in her section opened up. Clear that they know about the problem as our waitress has said that noise and lighting is the number one complaint and that the owners don't sit in this section (gee, I wonder why?!?). You can readily fix one of these common complaints.
So, my recommendation, sit at the bar or insist on a high top near the bar where there is more light and you can see the menu and your food. I would also recommend the stuffed acorn squash. Very good and filling.

Food was ok but poor for the price. It was too loud. Weirdly loud. Had a hard time hearing the person directly across from me. They need more wait staff. It took too long to get our food.
