Umi Fine Japanese & Asian Cuisine

Came to Umi Japanese food on a visit while out of town for work. I ordered the rice cakes seafood platter and it was very interesting to eat I suggest you try it more as an appetizer. Good food friendly service definitely worth a try thank you for a pleasant evening.

So good! I loved the cocktails the sushi and the vibes. 5 stars seriously. I enjoyed it better than the sushi places I go in Boston proper.

They have all types of Asian cuisine (which is usually a red flag) and they hit ALL OF THEM ON THE MARK! Some of the best Asian food I’ve had and I’m from the West Coast. Great service as well! 10/10

Umi Fine has a large menu of traditional Japanese, Korean and many Sushi and Sashimi options. They feature Waygo beef and Toro tuna both as stand alone mains and in several rolls. The restaurant is in a strip mall alongside 128 and easy to get to if you trust the GPS.

The sushi is so excellent here. Whenever I’m in the area for work, I either have lunch here or get take out for dinner.

This is a busy great place for Japanese food. Set in a strip mall, right off the highway,near several hotels.
The staff and owners are super nice, friendly and accommodating.
The menu is large but not overwhelming. There were 3 chefs behind the sushi bar -each making eye-appealing creations.
We went for lunch, as we perused the menu and the blackboard full of specials we were served water and ordered a Scorpion bowl and the best lychee martini.
I ordered the appetizer of Uni topped with quail eggs that was just received from Japan and the tuna tartare for my meal. My husband ordered the volcano roll. Oh-so good! The Uni was so fresh and sweet. My tuna tartare was big enough for 2-3 servings. The tuna was fresh with creamy avocados over seaweed salad. Topped with tobiko/ikura and crunchy tempura flakes. It was sweet, salty, a little spicy,smooth & crunchy
all at the same time. Excellent.
The volcano roll was enough for 2-3 people also. It was a spicy salmon roll topped with scallops, spicy tuna, & crab stick (among other food item) in a delicious sauce. So good. To say the least we went home with left overs.
The staff checked in with us several times to see if everything was to our liking. We love this restaurant-great place, good atmosphere. We would recommend this place to all sushi lovers. And we definitely will be back.

Cute date spot. Lots of birthday celebrations the night we went. Place was busy and food/drinks were good. Lack of variety in fish selection but lots of spicy tuna and shrimp tempura based sushi rolls options. Everything we had was fresh. Boneless spare ribs had a really nice flavor and sauce.

This place was amazing - great service, tasty food, fantastic cocktails. I ordered the sashimi meal (I can’t remember the name - sashimi deluxe maybe?), edamame, and white mai tai. All great, I will be back!

It was busy and I was not personally impressed with my food. I got the Mongolian beef, and I found it to be rather bland. My husband seemed to enjoy the house fried rice he got. The portions were great though!

UMI is a gem in Waltham! The food is absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was spot-on. The service was equally impressive: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing.
