Updating my review:

Came back to my favorite Chinese restaurant. We ordered our usuals: West Lake beef soup, bok choy, and Yang Chow fried rice. But this time, we tried the sizzling steak with black pepper sauce. The steak was super tender, but the sauce was bland. We also ordered the double-cooked pork. This was good but not what I expected. It wasn't made of pork belly and scallions. The sauce was bland and it was not spicy and mostly cabbage. The prices had gone up, and the portions seemed smaller, although the service remains good.

Joyful Garden Chinese restaurant is indeed joyful! We were seated quickly with a pot of tea. Service was friendly, and food came out rather promptly. We started with West Lake beef soup and it was amazing! Light and delicious, I must say it’s my favorite soup.
Then, we shared an order of salt and pepper shrimp and calamari, bok choy, and Yang chow fried rice; everything was delicious! But the highlight was the pan-fried flounder; I just couldn’t get enough of it, just quite pricey for $40.95 market price. Plenty of parking and a much better option than going to Boston. I can’t wait to go back!

Ah Xian’s service was excellent. Food was good today. Get ready to wait. They will provide a buzzer. Target is next door - walk around and wait for your table.

Solid dim sum banquet hall experience with push-carts serving most of the dim sum classics. Service is fast, so if you know what you want you can get hot food served within 10 mins of getting seated. My personal favorite is the Chiu Chow Fen Guo 潮州粉果

Stopped over there in large group while visiting Boston for the first time and I didn't know what to expect. The host had prepared the menu and we were sat in group and the food started rolling in. We started with cold meats with the host going to a lot of trouble to explain what was on offer. There was pork, beef and jellyfish. We moved on to a soup. Then fried rice and chicken. Then fish. Then vegetables and tofu. Then lobster. It was an enormous meal in the end. I learnt a lot about Asian cuisine and I appreciated all the amazing food.

The food is good, but I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!! Here is why… I placed 2 take out orders and when I got home , they didn’t pack the soup I ordered. I called and told her what happened and asked to credit the cost to my credit card. She said “No, can’t do that.” So the next day I went there to get the soup and 2 appetizers. Where I got home I found the cover to the soup smashed in. I called again. Same answer, come in ! Next day I came in with the smashed soup container cover to show her. I git my soup, 2nd trip there!! After further talk, I asked to speak to the manager. “No. No manager”. She then turned away and ignored me!! NEVER, NEVER WILL I GO THERE AGAIN!

Excellent service and food. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the Metro Boston area.

Authentic dim sum in the Watertown area. There’s a reason why there’s always a wait here.

Okay okay. The location may be interesting but the food is surely not. Its authentic Chinese food nestled next to the RMV and a few questionable stores. If you enjoy classic chinese dishes and dim sum you will like this place. The food comes out quick, the atmosphere is busy and smells great. 10/10 would come again with some dim sum loving friends.

Best dimsum in the area, approved by my Cantonese relatives. We come here every time. No places in Chinatown compare at all. You can tell how popular this place is by the line if you go late weekend mornings.

Overall a solid Chinese restaurant. We came here for a wedding party and they had set menus. Lots of space for the party, though not in a closed off separate room, so it's not a place to have privacy or quiet. The food was pretty decent if not a bit oily. Service was hit or miss. We ran out of tea frequently and it took a while to get it refilled. Tons of parking available.

Had a family dinner with 40 or 50 people and we were served a wonderful meal with many different foods to try from. I tried jellyfish for the first time. It was good!
