We are obsessed with this place. An amazing tribute to Uruguay and its food. Analia, Gabriel and the rest of the staff make you feel like family. The food, drinks, and desserts are top notch. La Bodega is a gift to Watertown and Boston as a whole!

My experience at La Bodega in Watertown was thoroughly disappointing. The owner was absolutely awful—rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in addressing our concerns. Their attitude made it clear they have no respect for their customers, setting a terrible tone for the entire meal. The waiter was equally unprofessional and shockingly inattentive. We were left waiting for an unacceptable amount of time with no check-ins or acknowledgment from the staff. The food, while warm, arrived so late that we were frustrated and starving by the time it reached our table. It felt like the waiter had completely forgotten about us, and there was no apology or effort to fix the situation. While the atmosphere was okay, it did nothing to salvage the experience given the owner’s poor leadership and the staff’s lack of care. I won’t be returning to La Bodega and strongly recommend others avoid it unless you’re okay with being ignored and disrespected. Save your money for a place that actually values its patrons.

Truly a great and unique spot - both in atmosphere and food. The duck and tenderloin were amazing - super juicy and flavorful - and we were happy with the octopus starter too. Menu could have used a few more vegetables, but we were more than content with everything else we ordered. The restaurant itself was cozy and classy. I forgot to take pictures because we were too busy eating.

Tasty food, good vibe, but possibly short-staffed.
The best things imo were the ham and cheese empanadas, the (young) chicken, and the pork sausage. The empanada was delicious, the chicken tender (but imo a bit over herbed), and the pork sausage blissfully charred and oozing with flavor. The wood grilled shisito peppers are a nice spin on the ubiquitous blistered shisito trend, with the wood and lemon zest imparting both warmth and brightness. The wild mushrooms were not my thing, and according to my girlfriend, a bit sour. Lastly, the rib eye was a bit underwhelming and nothing to write home about.
I feel the staff are too busy and it takes a while to be noticed to be seated and ordering and getting staff is a game of cat and mouse. However they and the manager are friendly when you have them.
Walk-ins might have to wait for while since it is a very popular place. Once you get seated, the experience is definitely remarkable.

This restaurant is pure magic!!! We sat at the bar - the whole space is just beautiful. Good energy! When we mentioned that we had just gotten engaged, they brought champagne and dessert and told us to scream it from the rooftops because it brings everyone who hears it so much joy! 🥹 We can’t wait to come back.
