If you have not gone to The Cottage, located in Wellesley, you are missing out. I've been there several time and the food is always fabulous. I highly recommend you try this place. You will not be disappointed.

We visit several times a year and always enjoy our experience. In general staff are pleasant and helpful and one person in our group asked for cocktail sauce which they don't have but they quickly made up some . Reservations are a must. We were seated in an overflow room for a 1 pm lunch reservation but it worked out fine because it was quieter than the main room which is very loud. Menu is not huge but might be a problem if you are looking for for a steak or something very different.

I've been to The Cottage many times, and I've always been happy with the food there. However, last night I left miserably disappointed. I ordered the calamari starter, which I've had in the past and loved. I can't put my finger on it, but last night it was not good and I didn't eat it. I also ordered the lime grilled shrimp special and the shrimp was so tough that I couldn't even eat one comfortably. So, consequently, I didn't eat that dish either. My husband liked it, however, so he ate it. Lastly, for dessert we ordered the lemon creme brule and it was delicious. Needles to say, that was gone in a NY minute! However, we weren't asked if we wanted coffee - which we would have had if it was offered. Our server was excellent. She was attentive and checked on us often. It seems that The Cottage is getting skimpy with the amount of bread they give. We weren't asked if we wanted more (which we did) and the little bread they gave us was barely enough for four people to share. I wish they hadn't taken the veggie burger off the menu. That was my go-to and was always delicious. Since the food was subpar last night and the veggie burger is off the menu, it will probably be a while before I go back.

Unfortunately, The Cottage doesn't list all ingredients on the menu. I ordered the lobster tacos which listed lots of ingredients. When it arrived, I took a bite and it was filled with cilantro. An herb like that has visceral responses from a lot of people. It should be listed as an ingredient.

Always a great place to go on a Saturday night. A liite quieter this time of year when everyone else is on the Cape. Service is always prompt and friendly and they describe the drinks and specials in detail. Great wine list. Awesome desserts, big enough to sahre.

We went for Father's Day brunch. The French toast and pancakes were delicious. My daughter and I split the home fries. They were a bit spicy and tasty too! A nice treat for Fathers Day.
