Mean Burgers Bar and Grille & Hog Island Beer Yard

The food was extremely fresh, flavorful and a generous portion. Beautiful presentation! Perfectly seasoned coconut curry chickpea and jasmine rice with perfectly cooked plantains! Served steaming hot in a beautiful ceramic bowl.
Jodi our server was thoughtful, helpful and a happy gal.
Hog Island restaurant was roomy, clean and well lit. Terrific photos of surfers on the walls!!
The band Salt Marsh QUARTET was top notch!!

My husband and I ordered the RT 6 burger, (med well) also added onions to it. An order of fries comes with the burger. The burger was very delicious and the fries were fresh and hot. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area. The waitress was very nice and the restaurant was clean.

Went last night and the burger was very good. I ordered a bourbon manhattan, it came to the table and was bourbon straight up? I could tell by the color, no sweet vermouth, no bitters, no cherry…. I did order a second one and it was made by a different bartender, it had some sweet vermouth in it but no bitters, no cherry…. I was a little disappointed as I was told they make a great drink there. The music was great !!!!! 9 pieces playing Irish music…. Will probably go back? When spending $ 180.00 for 3 people …2 burgers, 1 salad and two drinks each I would expect the bartender would know how to make a proper manhattan …. No bitching just thought you’d like to know….

Spent $70 asked for a burger medium well, got it bleeding in the middle. Band was entirely too loud for how small the place is. I ordered take out and sat outside in the rain. I was in a band for ten years so I'm not just complaining to complain. Food took way too long.No one was really happy with the food. I was starving and had French fries for dinner. Extremely disappointed.

*Update we are all sick this morning. I have had a lot of bad experiences at restaurants but I think this is the worst one. Very upset.

My guy and I had walked into a few spots before finding this place that were visibly not for us. This place was super clean, we had the hummus plate, the burger w bacon, and chicken wings w hot chili sauce. Everything was delicious including the french fries! The staff was friendly, and welcoming. Everything came out in a timely fashion too! Chefs kiss!

Stopped by late afternoon on a Sunday for a beer in the beer garden. Got there just as they were opening so pretty quiet. Band was setting up to play in the early evening as we left. Beers were solid and nice alternative to sit outside instead of going to a busy restaurant!

Interesting spot. Good for cheap drinking and dinner, I suppose. The burger was good. The pasta was filled with loose onions strings to save a penny I guess. Amateur outdoor bar setup.
