Excellent service from our waitress, Mack. Food was good and reasonably priced. I had the polish plate special and the cabbage soup was out of this world. Best soup I’ve had in ages. My sister had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was too big to finish. The atmosphere was homey and classic, one of those places that are sadly disappearing. All in all a nice experience.
Vegetarian options: There was an interesting kale bowl I almost went for, and a veggie burger

I've tried the tavern a handful of times mostly because I live a few miles away in town. I have been disappointed every time with the menu. It just doesn't have a great variety of items and the food isn't great. I hope this place can change it up with consistent cooks and new menu items. It's a shame considering the history of the place.
