This is the lamest hot fudge sundae ever. It's like they smeared hot fudge on the cup and put the ice cream in it...not a repeat and should've gone to the Clam Box but thought I'd try a new place on my visit home. It looks so sad on the pic but its a true representation of what isn't a sundae.

I hold this place near and dear to my heart, my whole family including myself worked here at one point or another. Revisiting my hometown and stopped in for dinner, they were very busy but we were more than happy to wait. We got mozzarella sticks and there was NO CHEESE in ANY of them, completely hollow fried tubes it seems all the cheese leaked out when cooking, which was extremely disappointing to have paid for. The burgers were tasty but had sauce and ingredients we asked be left off on them. Malted milkshake had no malt flavor and was very thin, and we when we first got the order it wasn't given to us, we had to wait around awkwardly then ask about it. Also the girls taking orders don't seem to be as kind as we used to be, even on a busy night smiles are a must!

$60 for two haddock platters and a Smashburger with drinks. The haddock was soggy and tasteless, the french fries were greasy, soggy and brown. My son said the cheeseburger was good. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone down. I don’t believe we’ll return.

They always used to have soft serve then the machine was always down and you could never get soft serve , now they finally have a soft serve machine and they still can't make what you want .

When I was a young child, about 75 years ago, I used to go up to Howards at least once a month for 21 shrimp in a basket. I continued there for many, many years. Now, after reading all the bad reviews I seriously don't believe I will ever be returning because of your new management.

I used to love Howard's Drive In... But when they got bought by The Clam Box, their quality changed and not for the better. My wife and I just came from Howard's today. Order fried clams, scallops and fish and chips. All of it was overcooked and slightly greasy. They also changed their batter, it seems, for the worse. The fries were limpy.
Cost was just over $60 for small whole clams, small scallops, fish and chips, milkshake and lemonade. For that price I can go to two other places with better fried clams, scallops and fish & chips.
The old Howard's had consistently good fried clams and their scallops, even though they were scallop pieces, had GREAT scallop flavor. They also play 50's music, loudly! Sorry, but what happened to a nice quiet drive-in to get something good to eat and enjoy just being outside with other people?
I miss the old Howard's. I won't be going back... Too bad.
