I was amazed walking in. It was a good and overwhelming seeing all the options and smelling the good coffee. I ordered a chai tea latte and I loved it! If you are a tea or coffee fan, this is a must visit.

After passing by this coffee shop so many times, we finally decided to go in. Recreo is a unique local business and their coffee beans come from a family farm in Nicaragua. This place has a cosy vibe with plenty of space to sit down. The owner is very friendly and was happy to help us choose between the plethora of offerings on their menu. I ordered an iced vanilla latte which tasted much fresher than its counterpart at Starbucks. My boyfriend got a hot tea which he said was quite good. Our drinks combined were a total of $10, which I think is very reasonable for a coffee shop in Boston. We will definitely be back!

Need a better system of cashier conveying drinks to batista, lots of confusion

I tried this place when it first opened. I LOVE good coffee and was excited a small coffee place opened in our town.I ordered a macciatto - my favorite. It was terrible. I spoke with the batista and told him I was disappointed. He made no effort to find out why or offer to re-make it.Now 4 years later - I decided to try it again.A lovely young woman took our order - two small cappuccinos, each with a double shot.My wife had her cappuccino - she liked it, not loved it.My cappuccino was basically warm milk - even with a double shot - I tasted little coffee. This is a tiny place. There was only one other customer in the place. No one asked us how our order was or commented that my cup was mostly full.Still disappointed. Will not return.

Recreo is truly special. I don’t visit nearly as often as I’d like due to my work schedule, but every time I do it’s a highlight in my day. Recreo is known as West Roxbury’s living room and it’s easy to see why. The owners Hector and Miriam have created a welcoming space for all to stop in and connect over coffee from the family farm in Nicaragua. Truly from farm to your cup! The barista team is friendly, knowledgeable and committed to making top quality hand crafted beverages. My favorite is a whole milk latte with an extra shot. I usually enjoy a mixed berry scone or mini blueberry loaf with it. Baked goods are made locally and are always fresh and tasty. There’s also a great selection beans for sale (freshly roasted on site). Eden has given me great suggestions on what to try at home for cold brew!

Incredibly fresh roasted coffee and beans. Great for home espresso and brewing!

Very good coffee, desserts are meh. Lots of dry treats... nothing impressive. It's a good cozy small place to meet someone but if you want to be dazzled by food I'd say try the place next door.If you're a vegan you won't like the non dairy options. This is a true coffee place, not trying to be mean... Im just used to french style coffee shops (big focus on pastries).

We've received a couple bags of whole coffee beans from here and they've been exquisite! Even after using them months after they were gifted to us, they stayed fresh. The coffee was delicious and we could brew a large batch from them. The one star off is only because they're very much only a coffee shop. I wish they would diversify and add more of a cafe element, as in, similar to a Tatte or Flour, they would serve some breakfast items like sandwiches or quiches. It helps round out the coffee. Most times we don't end up going here for coffee is because we're also looking for a light snack/meal to go with it.

Recreo Coffee Shop boasts delicious coffee, but on a chilly winter day, the hot breakfast options were non-existent. I wondered in to Recreo one morning recently, hoping for an alternative to the diner across the street and the bakery next door. Against my better judgment, I opted for the cold turkey sandwich on croissant with no option to warm it. I do not recommend this spot for breakfast, however, the spot's popularity within the community was evident, attracting numerous patrons. The intimate dining area, though small, fosters a cozy and communal atmosphere, perfect for a friendly, family-owned spot. Despite food limitations, the welcoming ambiance, delicious coffee served in real coffee cups (for dine-in) and friendly staff make it a warm and inviting place.

Delicious coffee! The chai is tasty too. Small but cozy atmosphere inside with a lovely outdoor seating area in the back.

I love this place but it’s entirely too small for the amount of people who want to dine in plus all the baby buggies. I hope they invest in some igloos for the patio so it can be used year-round.

The baristas are always very friendly, and their drinks are typically very good. I really like their lattes. It is a great place to go and do some work if you have the time.
