Black Rose European bakery

A friend bought me a carrot cake to celebrate my birthday from Black Rose in Westborough. The cake looked beautiful. BUT, it was about 25% cake and 75% frosting. There's just a sliver of cake between the frosting.

Pastries here are great, you can taste the quality of ingredients and recipes. The cookies are just insane

We recently ordered a full sheet size cake that serves 70-80 people. The cake was stunning and delicious. The baker did an incredible job and was able to bring my vision to light . However the service was not upto the mark. When we went yo pick the cake , noone was able to pack the cake properly. They were asking us to take the cake home with the lid open . After explaining seevral time and for more than an hour that it will contaminate the cake , they figured out a way to pack for us.
Its odd for such a huge bakery to sell custom cakes and not know how to pack it. I had to spend 1.5 hr in the bakery while they were figuring out how to pack it. This could have been avoided had the team given it a thought before pickup time.
On a day of event wasting 1.5 hrs standing in a bakery to get your cake packed is a nuisance thats why i rated 1 star in service.

The turn over was so perfect. I also loved every cookie.... I wish I had a local place of my own like this. Its amazing.

The cake was good, but they design as what they want. I ordered a cake for 25 yr old men and what i get is below. I ordered Gold and received white cake.
Call the store twice and no one called me back for the same. When I call today after 10 days they asked me to bring the cake so they can refund.
No apologies to spoil my moment. Baker still find it beautiful for a men’s Birthday party. Really disappointed with our experience.

Few servers. Wait time was too long to be served.

No responsibility, no respecting for their big mistakes for a 1/4 sheet 80 years birthday cake ~ I ordered the Gold cake , but they made White cake ; I ordered Fresh strawberries inside between the layers, but there’s no any strawberries. Then I took a couple of pictures to send them on the same day of birthday party , but no one else had responded then I called on Monday the girl who took my order took my phone number to the person who will call me, unfortunately no one has responded yet, then I sent a second Email with my ordered sheet , pictures and recipe this early morning, but still no thing has got back from them. It is a huge disappointing. Our whole family members are never ever going back this terrible bakery!!

Ps. My credit card numerous are on the ordering sheet, otherwise , I will post the ordering details sheet to showing to public HOW BAD the Black Ross Bakery has done to me.

Beware- gluten free pastries might have been sitting for awhile. I got a cheesecake and it was completely moldy under the frosting. I was told I would be getting my order fully refunded in cash but they only refunded me 5 dollars and did not care to apologize.

Tiramisu Cannoli was good. Ricotta Cannoli felt average. Cinnamon log and raspberry log needed more substance. Tasted more like a mouth of pie crust. Service was like my doctor... needed more bedside manner. (Friendliness felt forced- not genuine) Although presentation was pretty, the end result was lackluster.

Very disappointed with my visit. The worker I dealt with was rude, unprofessional, and had an attitude that felt racist. It completely ruined the experience and made me feel unwelcome. Customer service matters, and this kind of behavior is unacceptable. I will not be returning and hope management addresses this.

I recently visited this bakery and was extremely disappointed by the way we were treated. The staff were rude, dismissive, and showed no respect toward us during our visit. What made the experience even worse was witnessing a completely different attitude when white customers walked in—suddenly the same staff were polite and welcoming.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable and comes across as discriminatory. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of who they are. I cannot recommend this bakery to anyone who values fair and equal customer service.

Pretty displayed of bakery goods. Pleasant girls there. The cake was tasty but the frosting was more like coolwhip. My husband liked it. The lobster tail was ok and the cranberry cookie was very good.
