Just responding to that really odd 1 star review. I cannot believe someone is mad they got asked for their ID. Relax, weirdo! That means you look under 40 years old and the bartender is doing their job. The beer is cold, the food is good, and if you don’t like it… why would you be a repeat customer for years?

This review is for a birthday party I threw for my husband on 05/31/25. I had every intention of writing a review sooner but time got away from me...

I had wanted to host a party for my husband's 31st birthday and Great Awakening was recommended to me by a friend who was a local Westfield resident until recently. Having never been there, I reviewed their website and was pleased with their beer offerings as well as their menu. I reached out to Kim (co-owner) via email to discuss options as I wasn't sure if I wanted to book their private room or not.

From the onset of planning, Kim was incredibly helpful and timely in answering all my questions around the logistics of the venue and their menu options. On the day of the event, she wasn't present but the entire staff was welcoming, kind, and super accommodating to any needs or requests we had. The table for our reservation was set up and ready to go and I was able to come in early to add personal decorations.

The apps were delicious and the beers were tasty and fun! And the venue is so beautiful and spacious! There was plenty of room for the kids in our party to run around and play without disrupting other parties.

We had the most wonderful time celebrating my husband and will definitely be back again in the near future!

We used to love this place it has gotten weird and the past few times the service was horrible. Most recently the bartender was incredibly rude, our food took a very long time even though it wasn’t very busy, warm beer, no napkins plates or utensils just the flatbread served rudely. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back here and will share our experience with friends and family.

I’m going to start this off by saying my family, my boyfriend and I have been coming here for the past few years. Today is the last time I will ever come here. The girl who’s clearly new at the front desk is miserable. We ordered food and beer, and my boyfriend had forgotten his wallet with his ID. He was annoyed at himself for forgetting it and as a joke he said “is there anyone else here they know me” again.. we’ve been coming here for so long. Then knowing thats not acceptable we laughed and said we would leave and come back with his wallet. She gave him a disgusting dirty look and said “you know Shannon? then i guess it’s fine.” and after giving him a beer said “by the way next time you don’t need to be so.. moody” again dirty look. Absolutely ridiculous we were more than fine leaving and coming back with his ID we told her we could come right back. Customers who have been coming here for so long getting a horrid attitude from someone new who shouldn’t be working with people in the first place. Not to mention their beer is never cold and their food is sub par that’s besides the point. Was once a nice place to come and get a good beer and an appetizer now is not worth it especially with the C you next tuesday working at the front desk. If you want a better colder beer and way better food go to the Cambridge House in Granby CT.

I haven't tried the food, but plenty of wonderful brews to sample, and I ended up with the American lager. Place is huge and can accommodate many events.

We had our parents 50th anniversary party here and it was absolutely amazing! We started planning a year ago. We worked with Kim and Shannon on every little detail and everything came through better than expected. Smooth process, great to work with, and an excellent atmosphere and experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. I Highly recommend Great Awakenings Brewery!!

The beer was tasty and they have pretty good bar food/appetizers.

As others have mentioned, the inside is spacious and clean. It was not busy when we went, but it was like we were very far from everyone. It seemed good for kids as well due to there being space to run around and play corn hole.

The only challenging part was determining where the entrance was. The real entrance is up the hill on the other side of the building. The entrance closer to the ground says delivery only but you can enter through there as well.

This led to confusion as I could not locate my date. But that may have been more of a me issue.

It was my first time but what a great place to play cornhole. Location and atmosphere were perfect, beer was great 👍🏼 ill definitely be back and would also recommend to others

If you love barrel aged stouts, this is the place for you.

Great space with waterfall views. Really liked the cryo and borealis ipas, would love to see their take on a west coast style.

Great beer, great food and awesome service!

Fun location with good beer and ok food, but the service is weak to say the least. Servers are indifferent and often forget about you entirely. There are much better options in town.
