I've been a loyal and avid customer for 30 years. Here's why: There is valet parking, you are always greeted by friendly people, in 30 years I have never, and I honestly mean this, had a bad meal at Winthrop Arms Restaurant. Everything was good, we had a booth which was asked for during booking. Service was a little slow but we wanted to be at dinner a little longer, we definitely weren't rushed. The problem was when I was placing my food in the to go container, at the bottom of my bowl was a butter wrapper?? Whose butter wrapper, I don't know??? They need to be more aware in their kitchen. We notified the waitress and no amends were offered. So we tipped 25% and we went on our way. Not...
Absolutely wonderful place to stay! Friendly staff, great restaurant with delicious food and drinks downstairs, beautiful ocean views, and full of charm. Our room was very comfortable for an older place and beautifully clean. Booked on Expedia and they said they were charging half and apparently they only charged for one night up front, so we had a little bit of a misunderstanding at first, but the owner came over and explained - really nice guy.
