Great spot to co.e either by yourself or with a couple of friends. Highly recommend the Lamb cumin pulled noodles. The noodles have just the right amount chew and are seasoned perfectly. Try mid spice level is you're unsure of your tolerance. The skewers are also a.must have!!!

This was so incredibly tasty. We got the pork soup bowl, the cold noodles, and a flatbread with lamb and couldn’t pick a favorite. A true gem of a place!!!

I will be dreaming about this food until I go there again. Insanely wonderful. A no fuss joint, food is inexpensive and comes out fast. We are strict vegetarians, and they confirmed the vegetarian dishes have no fish sauce, etc and that they just use soy sauce. Awesome. I ordered the vegetarian hand pulled noodles, half (medium) spice level. Also ordered my two little kiddos a vegetarian hand pulled noodle, no spice, to split. Noodles came out piping hot and topped with an aromatic mound of minced garlic and scattered cilantro. Chewy, sticky, thick, wavy noodles soaked up the vinegary, oily, ridiculously flavorful sauce. Mine had a chili sauce over the noodles, with a peppery red powder that tasted like it had been baking in a clay pot, somehow I tasted a little cinnamon. Not like any hot sauce I've ever had, in the best way. My kids ate every bite of their noodles, one tipping the bowl backwards to scoop up every bite. The other kiddo said it was one of the best things they've ever had. This place is not to be missed. This is travelling across the desert level food. Get the hand pulled noodles! Eat there-- can't imagine the noodles would be nearly as good if luke warm and all stuck together. Thank you, Gene's!

Excellent authentic food. Every dish my party ordered was great. Be sure to have a lamb skewer and a tea egg along with your entree.

Biang biang noodles are one of the top three dishes I have had anywhere in the world. You don't see Gene here too often anymore, but his staff do a great job with the techniques and flavors. One of my favorite spots in Boston area!

The food is delicious. The service and the atmosphere are poor. The bathroom is functional! My partner and I have been at both locations. The vegetarian option is also good.
Food doesn't taste fresh, no free water, too expensive, no service at all (take food yourself, get silverware yourself, get napkin yourself, clean up yourself, McDonald's style) yet they ask you to pay tip
Asian food is as complex as it is diverse. One of the underrepresented areas of Chinese cuisine is Western China, in particular the city of Xi’an. Gene captures the flavor and unique ingredients in this area. Don't come here looking for your favorite rice dish. You won't find it. Do open your experience to hand-pulled noodles. Warm and spicy soups filled with those noodles in addition to many other ingredients. My favorite #16 Hot and Sour noodle soup. With a Muslim influence, you will find delicious lamb skewers. Try a flatbread lamb sandwich. Fast, convenient, delicious, and definitely unique.

I have been going to Gene's for years back in the Chelmsford location as well as the Westford one and now I have to make the trip out to Woburn every once in awhile. The hand pulled noodles are amazing in the dumpling soup is one of my favorites. A+
Not as good as I hoped it would be. I’ve been to many xi’an noodle places and I expected something fragrant, punchy, and spicy. But the flavors were very mild and disappointing. The noodles didn’t have the QQ texture we were hoping for.
Delicious as usual. Order at the counter and pick up your meal when it's done. Cash only. Listen to the noodle maker stretch and then slap freshly made dough into noodles while you're eating.
There is a limited menu with both hot noodle soups, cold noodle dishes and a few other options.
highly recommend their lamb and cumin thick noodles! this restaurant is all self service (kiosk ordering) and their selection is not the largest, but their wide noodle soups are all delicious. Great prices too! Free street parking on the street or lot nearby. Short wait and positive experience overall.
