Nice people, but be careful what you order. Years ago, they had the best chicken salad of any takeout place in the vicinity. Because of that, we ordered one chicken salad sub and one roast beef sub tonight. The roast beef was very good. However, the chicken salad was beyond disappointing: we threw ours away after one bite. I could not even identify the parts of the chicken I bit into, and my husband refused to look. This is not an exaggeration: at first I thought I had spit out gristle. When I looked more thoroughly, I saw what might have been a vertebrae and some stretchy material that may have once been skin, but it was unrecognizable. Again, the roast beef was good, but if I dared to return, I would order in person, keeping a close eye on the food and its preparation.

I ordered 3 salads and an extra dressing for each. They charged me 4$ for the extra dressing. Hardly any meat on the salads.

I stopped by this place for the first time while fixing my car across the street and needed a quick lunch. The menu was huge, so I wasn’t sure what to order. I asked for a recommendation, and they suggested the Chicken Parmesan calzone with cheese.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything special—but from the very first bite, I was blown away. The chicken was incredibly tender and juicy, and the dough was perfectly crispy and flavorful. It was hands down the best calzone I’ve had in the last 30 years.

Two thumbs up. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly delicious meal!

Got takeout from here. The chicken kabob salads were fresh and delicious. The papusas are delicious. It seems like a family run place, maybe more el Salvadorian cuisine will make it on the menu like tamales or pasteles.

I ordered a BLT sandwich and only to see only bacon and onion on a roll. Very disappointing. If you can’t do it, take it off the menu.

Review (4/5 Stars Overall, but Poor Experience Tonight)

I usually really like this place. I’m a frequent customer, I live up the street, and I walk down to pick up food all the time. I almost never complain. My general rating is 4/5 — everything is great except the roast beef NEVER ORDER THE BEEF (for that, Pete’s is definitely better).
That being said, I didn’t even complain on the day. I tried their beef and it was inedible.

However, tonight I ordered a steak & cheese calzone with peppers and onions, and I was disappointed. The peppers and onions were completely uncooked. I called the restaurant to let them know, expecting they would remake it. Instead, the girl at the counter told me I needed to bring the calzone back to “prove to the cook” that it was uncooked.

I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable — just to have it made correctly. My family was already eating, and I didn’t want to walk back down the street carrying a half-eaten calzone. Also, what would they even do with it if I returned it? It’s not like it could be reused. Generally, when you order steak and cheese with peppers and onions, they’re cooked — it’s pretty standard.

I also noticed when I was there that they seemed disorganized and were already fixing someone else’s order. And the bottom of my calzone was extremely soggy, likely from the raw vegetables.

I didn’t feel heard or cared about when I called, which is disappointing as someone who comes here often. I hope the staff can handle situations like this more professionally and try to fix the issue rather than imply the customer is lying.

This place was amazing. The food was outstanding, the employees working were super nice and inviting. If we ever come this way again, we definitely are stopping.

A new favorite pizza for my family! The honey BBQ chicken finger pizza is AMAZING! The flavor is great and they don’t hold back on the chicken! 2 slices completely stuff my teenage sons (that’s saying something, trust me!) This was our 3rd time ordering after recently discovering it but I didn’t specify the type of bbq chicken we wanted (I didn’t realize they had options). I called to ask about it and they said they would make me a new one! It was perfect! (The 1st one was good too, just different) Great pizza and great service!

For the past six years, I’ve been trying out different restaurants, and I’ve never had a Chicken Parmesan Calzone quite like the one I had at GIOVANNI’s. It was absolutely amazing—excellent quality! Not to mention, the price is very fair and the food quality is just incredible. Thank you for making my day!

Had a large onion and hamburger pizza. VERY greasy. Box and pizza were soaked in grease. Bottom crust was also a bit soggy as a result. Tasted okay but we didn't finish it in favor of our health.
