Very disappointing experience. We arrived around 6:30 p.m. there were only two tables occupied and plenty of open seats, but the hostess still told us we’d need to wait 20 minutes. When we were finally seated, the food was mediocre and the waitress was inattentive. She brought us a dish we never ordered, and when we tried to check out, no staff were around. We had to walk to the front desk, where the receptionist made us wait another 10 minutes just to print the bill only to say she wasn’t our waitress. Extremely poor service from start to finish. Definitely not worth the visit.

I called this restaurant to ask if we could bring our fully trained and documented service dog, but the staff’s response was extremely disappointing. Even after I explained that it’s a service dog and offered to provide documentation, they demanded that I disclose what specific tasks the dog is trained to perform and the type of service it provides.
This is a clear violation of my privacy and ADA regulations. I should not have to reveal my disability to strangers over the phone just to make a reservation. The experience made me feel disrespected and discriminated against.
I truly hope the management provides proper ADA training to their employees. People with disabilities deserve privacy and respect.

We went at a quiet time (Monday lunch) and the wait staff was very accommodating and helpful with dishes. This is uniquely a Hunan specialty food place and is positioned accordingly. However (ssh don’t tell anyone) if you requested the fish fillet and hot peppers (if it’s not too busy) they will certainly make it for you off menu, even if it is from another province (Sichuan). The fresh pea pod stems were great (with a good amount of freshly cut garlic).

Very authentic Chinese cuisine. If you are a big fan of spicy food, I would definitely recommend. The flavor is one of the best in Boston area, with large portions and reasonable price. The lady who served us was also nice and attentive.

We held a private event at Spicy Hunan Kitchen for about 60 guests and had a phenomenal experience. Shirley and her team are incredible - they are professional, responsive, thoughtful, and so wonderful to work with. The food was amazing, the service was attentive, and the entire planning process was so smooth and easy thanks to Shirley and her team. They worked with us to make sure there were vegetarian options and gluten-free options for our guests, and exceeded our every expectation. We can't wait to come back to eat more of the incredible food and would recommend Spicy Hunan Kitchen to all!
