This simple and unaffected dining space belies the delicious food served. We enjoyed the crispy fresh samosas, which were delicious and only a little spicy, sausages, fresh chapati, goat and beef stews, greens and both spiced rice and coconut rice. The greens in particular were excellent, finely chopped and robustly flavored, while the meats were tender and the sauces were rich and savory. Penny (the owner) has created a lovely restaurant with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and very delicious food! We had a great meal last week. The samosas and the chapatis are amazing! The beef stew, sukuma wiki (collard greens) and the pilau are so incredibly tasty as well. Can't wait to be back at Tembo Grill! Thanks, Penny!
My first time eating Kenyan food and it will not be my last. The food was all delicious. We got tilapia with coconut sauce and plantains, grilled vegetables, collard greens, samosas, seasoned rice and curry chicken. Super-mega-highly recommend.
