New to the area, this was the first Jamaican spot I tried and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. I ordered the stew chicken (pictured) and the red peas soup, and both were delicious and authentically prepared. The service was fine, nothing exceptional but not bad either. Seating available inside. Will definitely be back.
This is the spot for authentic Jamaican food. Food is consistently good and warm. The porridge on Saturdays is awesome and red peas soup on Saturday is rich and delicious. Inside can be a bit noisy sometimes so not necessarily the best place for dining in. Natural juice is often available along with the intermittent Jamaican delicacies such as peanut drops, gizzada and bun & cheese. The curried goat and fried chicken are usually my go to. For breakfast, ackee and saltfish...
Food is very good. Skimpy on the plantains and oxtail (pay a lot to get a little). Cabbage is very bland and could use seasoning with tender love and care. Will be back in the future !
