Chill spot to grab coffee, pastries, and desserts.
I go into beancounter on highland st all the time! i am a regular there and everyone is so sweet and great service!! i love beancounter on highland street!!!!
Walked in at 6:58 to grab something quick and there were other customers in the store at the time and the door wasn’t locked but we walked in and the girl says sorry we’re closed..You were actually open for 2 more minutes and why not take the sale
Went into the bakery Saturday night, there were customers inside being waited on and as we got through the door the woman behind the
Counter said “we are closed” so we turned around and walked out, we looked at the time and it was 6:59 and they close at 7:00
And the cases were full. Idk why she couldn’t just wait on us too.
Very pleasant atmosphere and quality products. I tried a very good brownie and hot chocolate, but the service was AWFUL. I was visiting the city and was expecting to just grab a table for coffee and dessert and leave, but without even saying “good afternoon” the attendant served me with to-go packages (there were still 2 hours left until closing according to a sign on the door and she confirmed it when I asked). I understand how tiring some work shifts are, but she started lifting chairs and sweeping the room while I was still eating my meal there. Manager, train your employees and your cafe will take off.
Good spot for a quick stop. Get your coffee/tea fix & a quick bite
I've been to the bean counter a few times, but won't return. The coffee is good, but not cheap. Their breakfast sandwiches are ok, but they are ridiculously expensive for the quantity of food (the bacon is like two strips of precooked oscar meyer bacon). Go to Birchtree Bread, their sandwiches are phenomenal and are reasonably price for the amount of quality of the food. Seriously, they aren't even comparable.
Absolutely the best cheesecakes and cupcakes and coffee drinks so coming back

I can see why the 2 coffee shops in Shrewsbury closed poor management it's not about quality too much commercial branded including recess peanut butter cups the cinnamon chips used are not natural instead artificial based. just cheap quality.

I had high hopes for The Bean Counter, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The coffee was weak and tasted burnt, like it had been sitting in the pot for hours. The barista seemed disinterested and rushed through my order, which might explain why my latte was lukewarm and poorly made.
The atmosphere was also disappointing. The place was cluttered, and the seating was uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the tables were sticky, and the overall cleanliness of the shop left much to be desired.
Despite the premium prices, the quality of both the service and the product was subpar. There are plenty of better coffee shops in the area. I won’t be returning to The Bean Counter anytime soon.

Such an amazing & unique selection of desserts.
This place has been a great subsitute while Bagel Time has been closed. Its a shame this place doesn't have blueberry bagels or strawberry cream cheese.
