Friendly and fast service and a great variety of treats. The massive cookie sandwiches were $7.50 each and the cookie dough bars were $5.

I did trip on the rug coming in. Thankfully ankle was only mildly tweaked, but I moved it and brought it to the attention of the staff. It is not flat. Needs addressed.

I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome which makes my joints loose so it’s kind of my worst fear to enter a place with a rug that isn’t flat and get hurt right away and it happened today.

When we arrived at the cafe we were not greeted by anyone even when our order was finally taken, which took about 5 minutes even though we were the only ones in line. No hello, just a very bland, how can I help you. Then we proceeded to pay $16 for 1 bananas foster iced latte and 1 cupcake. Both good but definitely not worth $16! Especially when the customer service is not very good.

I have never been to the Bean Counter, but I am going to rate it five stars to try to offset the poor reviews a few days ago. The recent reviews may be legitimate, but I am thinking that the poor service may be due to a missing staff member.
Joanna was much too young for her life to end. According to what I have seen and heard, Joanna was well liked, respected, and WILL BE MISSED but REMEMBERED FONDLY. ☮️❤️
I send the owner and staff members, and her family, well wishes and the strength to be strong and remember the happy times and Joanna’s smile. 🤗🤗❤️

This hurts to write. I normally visit during the week and everyone is so happy and the tiramisu latte is on point, as well as a lot of the baked goods(they even have gluten free that I love), but today was ROUGH. Everyone minus the girl making the coffee seemed like it was the last place they wanted to be, and hey listen, I get being out of cups, but if you don’t have large in anything, put a sign on the door maybe, or communicate to customers better then me trying to order my coffee in a large to be told it only comes in small, to then get mad at the person I am with because he also tried to order a large and you huff and say “we don’t have large”, without explaining if maybe you have medium or other options. Customer service is what will keep your guests coming back or drive them away. So, I have my adorable coffee made by the only pleasant person there today, I didn’t buy any food because I was disgusted with the attitude of the cashier, and I will only be visiting during the week if at all moving forward.

I’m so disappointed with my visit to the bean counter today. Horrible horrible attitude from the woman at the front counter. Didn’t look up and had no interest in taking my order. Glad they were out of large cups and I could only order a small, tough to support this business today. Won’t be back soon, lots of other coffee shops in Worcester to go to. Such a shame, the staff used to be very pleasant and welcoming here.

Great place to hang with variety of table sizes and clean bathrooms. Much of the baked goods are chilled, so take them home and warm them up. I would only eat there things that were room temp or that didn't need refrigeration so much. Cold brew was excellent.

Enjoyed a wonderful and productive afternoon at Bean Counter Bakery Cafe on Grove Street. The Latte was wonderful and learned they use reverse osmosis filtered water for their espressos! The Barista and staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. The pastries and breakfast sandwiches are fabulous. Had a delicious cranberry scone and amazing fruit tart with cream cheese mousse with my Latte and enjoyed free wifi while working in the spacious and sunny cafe. The restrooms accommodate wheel chairs and are always clean and spotless. Cannot recommend the Bean Counter Bakery Cafe enough!

I first visited this bakery to pick up a delicious cake for my daughter's 21st birthday - and I am sooooo glad that the pre-existing Reviews were right on point! From customer service to the actual delivery of a delicious cake, I was beyond impressed. Thank you to the entire team at the Grove St. location! I can't wait to return (maybe in a month or so...need to stay as disciplined as possible, LOL)!

$7 for a cupcake?!!! They are not even special sized or anything. I came in planning to get a half dozen but at that price there is NO WAY. Unfortunately, I will have to take business elsewhere.

I love this place - their coffee is amazing, their pastries are some of the best I’ve had in Worcester, and the vibe of both the flagship store and their downtown location is so welcoming, modern, and warm, that I would love love love to spend an afternoon sitting by the window with a book and a latte ordering endless flourless chocolate fudge cookies. I really recommend it to any and all who are looking for quality baked goods and stunningly artistically decorated cakes.
My one hesitation about The Bean Counter on Grove St is the staff. I don’t think I’ve ever had a good encounter with any of them when I go in. They are never smiling, and they don’t say good morning or hello when I or any other customers enter. I know everyone can be having bad days, that’s normal, but it makes me uncomfortable when it seems like the bad mood is directed at and caused by me ordering a sweet treat or a latte. Also, most of the employees seem to whisper or mutter from behind the counter when asking questions or calling out orders, and then become snippy when I ask them to repeat themselves. I could be asking them in a way that makes them think I’m being rude, and for that I apologize, but if they spoke up or looked at me directly when speaking so I could see their mouths then I wouldn’t have to ask.
There is also one barrista who consistently seems confused about the pos system and just generally the fact that she’s there at all, like someone just dropped her there with no explanation. I would feel bad for her but it often results in blank stares and rolled eyes when I or other employees speak to her.
All in all, wonderful cafe, food, vibe, drinks and location! I strongly recommend it to everyone and I will continue to stop by because it’s the best coffee in town!

Awesome little bakery. Products all look perfect, and they are really good. Have been enjoying the berry lemonade cheesecake, chocolate mousse bomb, and the chocolate chip cookie dough bar with cannoli frosting. Everything has been delicious. Been here 3 times since I found it last week.

Very yummy, decent prices. I got the loaded and it was good, the bagels were very fresh and had a good bounce back! The carrot cake cupcake was good, the cake was moist but fell apart easily. The matcha was okay, it needed to be sweetened, they didn't ask about sweetness, unsure if I should have said something when ordering but it still tasted very fresh and good quality matcha.
