It’s really hard for me to write this because I usually give way more grace than I should, especially to places that consistently hire young staff and are often understaffed. I’m patient. I wait. I don’t make scenes. I let things slide.
Crust Bakery didn’t just have my business. They had something I rarely give: loyalty. Not money, not special treatment, just the benefit of the doubt I reserve for places that feel like a second home. That’s gone now.
On my last visit, I waited in line and placed my order. The shop wasn’t busy. I wasn’t rushing. Still, people who arrived after me were served first. A man who ordered after I did got his drink before me. He even had to ask about his order, just like I had done a minute earlier. When I asked where mine was, politely, I was met with a dismissive, passive aggressive tone from a woman I believe may have been management or ownership. None of the regular staff have ever treated me this way, which is part of why this stood out.
I ended up leaving after more than 25 minutes, when my drink was finally called.
What I can’t ignore anymore is the pattern I’ve been trying not to name. I am almost always the only brown person in this space. I didn’t want that to matter. I kept telling myself it didn’t even it sure did. But moments like this make it harder to keep pretending there isn’t something off about how people are treated here.
This isn’t about one slow order. It’s about feeling overlooked, deprioritized, and disrespected.
I won’t be coming back. Loyalty only works when it goes both ways.

Going to crust and spending $0 is becoming a regular hobby.
Really frustrating having no way to predict whether they have anything to eat or are completely empty. Sometimes delivery not there hours after open, sometimes they are sold out by then.
Delicious but, 50% of the time I walk in ready to spend money and leave empty handed.
It's a great breakfast spot but I can't depend on them during breakfast hours

Love their pastries. Always fresh and delicious. I recently tried their Bavarian pretzel and boy was it good. The coffee is mid but I'm picky so take from that what you will.

This location has gone downhill. The service hasn’t been the same for a while. I ordered a croissant sandwich and found paper mixed in with my egg and cheese. It was only until halfway I realized I was eating paper. It’s not worth it.

Ok, I couldn’t get everything but here are the things I can swear are divine: chicken salad on croissant, pain au chocolat, spinach and feta on phyllo dough, ham and cheese rolled in croissant , Olive loaf, Avocado toast with a boiled egg on an everything bagel, and cold pressed coffee with coconut and oat milk. I can’t say it enough this is an amazing bake shop. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Great, friendly, chill, service . Laid back ambience and easy accessible parking . Get there early before they run out of their more popular items- though , you really can’t go wrong with anything at CRUST!
Overall, nice experience. We ordered a chocolate croissant, blueberry cheese danish, and a 'coffee cake muffin'. The pastry on the croissant was flaky and light, though a bit oily. When we asked the girl at the counter what kind of muffins these were, she told us coffee cake, though we're pretty sure it was a pumpkin muffin when we ate it. Mulled cider was great, and a good size for a small! We dined in and the atmosphere was nice, though it is small and there was no sign of a bathroom.
I think it would be nice if they had better signage in the pastry case, because I know several people in line asked about what different pastries were - it would probably speed up the line if people knew what they were ordering. I would also have loved to see prices listed for the different pastries as well. For the muffin, croissant, danish, a small cider and small hot chocolate it came to about $26.

i am aware this place was originally owned by armsby abbie owners. with a display like this you can see how cheap the quality this place is. nothing is made from scratch using recipes I can also tell by the taste. I went to enough places. the owner is lucky anyone still stops in. I know the taste and texture of real scones same as artificial flavors. like taking a cheap muffin batter then adding to it. I know from a while back shortening was used instead of butter. anyone that goes to college for culinary would know this. that oil is made with petroleum distillates basically infusing oil that goes into your car engine and helium balloons etc. Proctor and Gamble came up with that over 100 years ago. the owner should rethink about what they are doing before rushing in.

I can’t believe I was charge $12 for HALF of a croissant. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese? , and also note it had NO CHEESE on it. A short time ago I was given a sandwich that was full size. So I’m in shock that why are cutting them in half and selling to customers without notifying them. You can see in the bakery window as to how big their croissants are. So opening this up had me surprised. Picture may look deceiving. It’s much smaller than it looks.
I’ve never experienced a coffee shop that’s cutting them in half. I’m not sure that I would go here again considering the fact that I feel fooled and robbed. Notify customers if you changed this if this is the case. But $12 dollars for half a croissant is ridiculous.

Wish I can give -0 my first and last time here was a disaster and when I ask for a refund the girl just start arguing with me and saying they had a big order, is unacceptable that I need to wait over 10 minutes for a egg and cheese on a croissant, everyone who came after me left the store, they don’t even give me a receipt for the “refund” just a paper with a lot of zeros on it. I hope my money is back on my card in a few days like the disrespectful girl say. Another thing is that the lady who made the sandwiches she throws them in the counter like whattttt everyone was looking at each other, she just throws them there and left so you cant understand what she say very unprofessional and very pricey too!! Don’t go hereeeee

Crust Bakeshop (Gold Star Blvd) is a true gem for anyone looking to satisfy their breakfast cravings. They’ve got all the essentials—freshly brewed coffee, refreshing teas, and a full spread of breakfast favorites. Their bacon, egg, and cheese croissant is a must-try: buttery, flaky, and packed with flavor. I paired mine with a green iced tea infused with strawberry and vanilla—light, fruity, and the perfect complement. And whatever you do, don’t leave without grabbing their monkey bread. It’s sticky, sweet, and totally unforgettable!
The folks working here couldn't be more miserable
