My typical Friday spot! The usual Keno, fish, and chips (which are amazing) and a friendly Bartender Heather. The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff is top notch. I would recommend any one for a great Friday lunch time spot. Great Food and Great Services!

This place will discriminate against you. I was turned away at the door for not having belt loops on my pants. Something about real men wear this and real women wear this. If you are trans or show any sign of being queer they will turn you away at the door and invent an arbitrary excuse to do so.

The entrance has ridiculously huge speakers that makes it difficult to hear each other talk. The food is good but on two occasions we were seated next to two unaccompanied children (waitress's children). I'm not unsympathetic to her situation but during dinner I don't want to listed to cartoons blasting on a cell phone. This is when I want to decompress. Just saying. Just saying.

Food was a C-. You can usually tell the quality of a place like this through their french fries and Funky Murphy's fries are bland and inconsistently cooked. The main meals weren't much better - could have made a better burger at home, the shepard's pie was underseasoned, etc. Service was friendly but nothing great. Atmosphere during weekend lunch was energetic but not obnoxious.

Mediocre food, ridiculous dress code, and dreadful atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
Extremely disappointed in their “standards”. Was told that I was not dressed appropriately. Went back and changed into khakis and a button down shirt. Then the bouncer told me that i didn’t have a belt on so was denied access. And next time should wear “golf shorts”. Despite the fact I was wearing professional clothes that I wear to work each day (button down shirt and khaki pants). Also half the people in the restaurant were wearing jeans (some had holes in them), and some even were wearing sweat pants. Such a disappointment, I had previously enjoyed going to funky Murphys.Never previously had this issue. Such a shame turning people away for ridiculous reasons as such. Well there are plenty of other bars in Shrewsbury st that will gladly accept me in my ”unprofessional” khaki and button down shirt.Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but have seen prior comments of other non-white individuals who have had similar issues here.I do have dark skin.

Did you know 21+ at this spot begins at 9:10pm?! Lol! My son and I been to this bar and grill numerous times late night. BUT tonight, I was told 21+ begins at 9:10pm...oh and this has always been a thing especially Thursday thru Sunday lol. I know one thing for sure I better not ever catch a child sitting in this restaurant at this time at night "Thursday thru Sunday". This was definitely giving "We're not serving Black people"....and if that wasn't the case, then why didn't the server offer TAKE- OUT as an option! Funky Murphy's in Worcester is moving funny. Let me find out the rumors about Shrewsbury Street is true! Lol

Good food, fair price, delicious drinks. Attentive staff. The only negative point is the music. In addition to the sound quality not being very good, the volume is always exaggeratedly high. Impossible to talk to people! I've been back several times, but this is always a negative point of the bar!

I have been going to funky murphy's for a while now, the food is usually okay and the prices are very reasonable. However, today i ordered steak tips with fries, and my partner order a blackened shrimp salad. There was no seasoning in the steak tip and they tasted boiled. The fries were not fresh, they tasted like they were warmed in the microwave. My partner got a Caesar salad with crotons and soaked in ranched dressing and a few shrimps thrown on top. I am very disappointed.
