A true Baker last of the Dying Breed get out there and support your local bakery awesome awesome,Now 5 years since ,now there closing because of the big guy's the markets etc.have killed soo many traditions? We the people should have supported our place's in times of need? Then they might have stayed open? You just can't get this kind of service in the way our Bakers put out? This place hasn't changed since I was a child. My great grandmother lived across the street from Helen's and after visiting her, my mom would take me and my sister over to get a sugar cookie and some bulkies, which are incredible, by the way! The interior looks exactly the same: no frills, but clean! Everything is always fresh and delicious. This bakery is a staple in the neighborhood!
I got 2 éclairs, they were amazing! Old school éclairs like I remember as a kid. They were huge with plenty of Bavarian cream!! Biggest éclair I've ever had but it did not disappoint when it came to the filling. The layer of chocolate could def be bigger. If it had more chocolate it would be the best éclair in this world!! Way better than Mike's and Modern pastries éclairs. Bova has very good éclairs too. These are bigger and better but I wish there was more chocolate...
