Let's start with the price. If you're spending over 15 bucks on food, you're eating too much or going for one of a few $15+ dishes. So well priced!
Low prices means crappy food, right? Not at all. It's all comfort food, but not nasty or salty at all. I had the chicken strips, my wife had the fried fish. Both were amazing. I would have tried other stuff if the portions weren't huge.
The staff are down to earth and typical Bostonians, so attitudes are welcome.
If you are in the area and looking for good, not too fancy food, you can't go wrong here. I will certainly eat here more!

I have been going to Herbies for years. Ever since new owners, the food quality has gone down. I always get the scallop roll. The scallops use to be nice and large and tender. Went last week the scallops were the size of a quarter and about a quarter inch thick. No flavor, either !

We were looking for a lobster roll on our way back from Maine and found Herbies! It was lunch time & The parking lot was packed as was the Resturant so we knew it must be good! Unfortunetly lobster rolls were only on Sat & Mon but the clam chowder was excellent best, I ever had! I also had grilled scallops & shrimp, my friends had both grilled & fried cod, scallops, shrimp all were delicious! If I’m ever in that way again I will stop.

Used to love Herbies but the last three or four times we have been there everything is fine except for the whole belly clams. They do have belly but just almost a strip clam or baby clam the bellies so small they look and taste like strip clam.wish yo could get better clams my try Ipswitch might have bigger bellies don't think right now is a good time to pay whole prices for almost strip clam prices
