Lucian's is not closed; Luciano's in Union Station is closed, but Lucian's is a soup & sandwich deli located inside the Mercantile Center building at 100 Front St. First, I should say that this review is a long-time coming. My colleagues and I have given this place so many chances, from sandwiches to salads to breakfast and soups. Time and time again, the food is lousy, and in my poor colleague's case, vomit-inducing. Their food is below average, yet priced on par or above neighboring food joints. Want a salad? Hope you like a pile of iceberg lettuce for $8.99. Want soup? Hope you like disintegrated noodles in oily water. In the mood for a bread sandwich? Great. Go here. Just don't expect much else besides the bread. It seems like a nice family joint, but until they get bumped out for something with culinary taste, I'll be getting my gourmet salad and sandwiches for the same price around the block.
