I love the place and its atmosphere I go very often the only thing is the service sometimes I go after noon and sometimes at night but the waiters are sometimes not very attentive at noon sometimes it is slow and they sit there and l9s eh seen on the cell phone and one has to get up to go order something from the bar at one's own expense; At night on a Saturday it is very busy but the waiter sometimes takes a while to come and he can pass you by 4 times and even if you call him, yell at him, he passes straight by as if the matter is not with him and I still have to order my drinks in The bar, this is my complaint, the only bad thing about this place are the waiters, some make a difference and work better and are more attentive, but some don't and that takes away the desire to be there, more than asking for the bill and even that takes time. ...

Recently went for lunch on a Saturday, there were about 3 servers and two tables. We were seated for 20 minutes and the only person who came over was the busser to bring chips and salsa. After 20 minutes we moved to the bar and still had to flag someone down to make our orders. Food came out quickly but we waited another 15 minutes for someone to ask if we needed anything else when we wanted some hot sauce. When we tried to give the manager feedback she was rude and not apologetic and kept telling us it was because of shift change. We saw plenty of employees on their phones and no friendly attitudes. Overall negative experience, probably won’t be back.

I've been waiting for 2 years for them to fix the bathroom. It doesn't have good lighting and the bathrooms don't have locks, which makes it uncomfortable every time someone pushes the door.

I went to Mexicali for the first time , my advice get a reservation there long wait to get in . The food was ok but small portions, the chips were stale . Not fresh or warm .. unless u ask for them u won’t get them ., the place was dark had a hard time reading the menu there better places out there

I would give Mexicali on Shrewsberry Street zero stars if possible. I came in to get fajitas because I found an online gift certificate that my coworkers bought for me during Christmas time because I was hospitalized. I was really excited when I found the gift certificate $60, but when I got to the restaurant, the hostess said that she cannot accept this online gift card because they only accept card gift cards. If someone pays money for a gift certificate, they cannot refuse it. Her excuse was that they can’t scan the gift certificates, but there was a card number right next to it. Horrible horrible customer service I will never return and your food sucks!

Will not return! Long black hair was found in 2 of our meals, Mexicali Stirfry! Since there's a shortage of hairnets at this site no need to order anything else. When our bill came the waitress explained they took 15% off the "Mexicali Stirfry with a side of hair" for the inconvenience. 15%? We asked for the meal to be removed and it took 2 conversations with the manager to have it removed. There is a lack of integrity, good business practice and common sense at this restaurant.

Terrible experience. They gave my grub hub order to the wrong driver. A refund coming in 3-5 days does not help. Inconsiderate and inept.

Some of the worst service i have received. Guac is $12 and they gave a real stank look when i told them to correct it and i specified the ingredients, it was wrong again and the waitress finally got it corrected. Also, they sat us down in the upstairs area and it was dirty and it looks like no one knew how to clean up. Check the photo for the mess they had sitting there and no one addressed it. Chipotle could give better service than this.

The food was good but I was disappointed when our server Barbarah charged us $2.50 for two little things of side mayos! My kids ordered the chicken tenders and it came with fries. They wanted mayos instead. I asked if we could have some may, Barbarah said sure but didn't let us know it'll be extra charge. Who charges for little mayo? When I asked her why charge for mayo and all restaurants give it for free, she responded "it's not free because it is something the servers have to get from the kitchen"... it's just so weird all around! We will not be going back!

We were in Cancun and Texus a month ago and compared the food, Mexicali has better value and flavor. The dual grilled meats were nicely marinated and grilled. The shrimp with rice sauce is not heavy but not bad. The seafood soup was delicious. Overall the whole family loved the experience. Service was a little slow but very friendly.
