All I can say is AMAZING. Every time we come here they do not disappoint! Food is so good I am thinking about it days later! Drinks are on point too! It's hard to find a place that nails the food AND the drinks but they have done it! I love the vibes here and the service is great!

We love going to Mexicali with our family. The staff is always so kind to our young grandchildren. The food is excellent and the service is superb. We find it the finest Mexican food in the area with a great atmosphere.

Disappointing meal, we started with calamari which was the only good part of the meal! The aioli on the side was tasty, wasn’t overcooked and seasoned well. I had a seafood soup - came with mussels, scallops, fish, shrimp and octopus($26). The serving size was huge. The description mentioned avocado, however there was not any in the bowl. All the seafood was very overcooked and chewy. The broth had no flavor. I asked the waitress for cilantro and lime hoping it would help. But overall it was pretty sad. My daughter got the dos amigos. She chose chicken and shrimp, also comes with rice/beans and lettuce & guacamole. Her shrimp was fine but the chicken was dry and didn’t have any flavor. The guacamole was great! Lastly- the waitress seemed to take a very very long time coming to the table. My drink from the bar took 25 minutes to arrive, we didn’t order our meals until 30 minutes after sitting, and I asked multiple times for a water that I never received. Really wanted to like this place so will maybe give another try in the future.

Me and my wife had the most disappointing experience last night at this restaurant. We have been coming to this restaurant for a long time now and we already expected the same good ol’ service. We get our free salsa and as soon as I go to dip the chip on the salsa when I’m pulling it out there was a hair in it. I told the waitress and she didn’t seem happy with that. She got us a new one and everything was fine until I ordered a fried calamari. It came so overcooked that it was almost burnt. So rubbery that my wife couldn’t chew on it. We’ve had their fried calamari before so I knew there was something wrong. I asked the waitress about it and she said that the calamari comes frozen and that it always look like that. Disappointing experience and I don’t think I’ll be coming back. It seemed they did that on purpose because I found a hair in the salsa.

I love the place and its atmosphere I go very often the only thing is the service sometimes I go after noon and sometimes at night but the waiters are sometimes not very attentive at noon sometimes it is slow and they sit there and l9s eh seen on the cell phone and one has to get up to go order something from the bar at one's own expense; At night on a Saturday it is very busy but the waiter sometimes takes a while to come and he can pass you by 4 times and even if you call him, yell at him, he passes straight by as if the matter is not with him and I still have to order my drinks in The bar, this is my complaint, the only bad thing about this place are the waiters, some make a difference and work better and are more attentive, but some don't and that takes away the desire to be there, more than asking for the bill and even that takes time. ...

Recently went for lunch on a Saturday, there were about 3 servers and two tables. We were seated for 20 minutes and the only person who came over was the busser to bring chips and salsa. After 20 minutes we moved to the bar and still had to flag someone down to make our orders. Food came out quickly but we waited another 15 minutes for someone to ask if we needed anything else when we wanted some hot sauce. When we tried to give the manager feedback she was rude and not apologetic and kept telling us it was because of shift change. We saw plenty of employees on their phones and no friendly attitudes. Overall negative experience, probably won’t be back.

I've been waiting for 2 years for them to fix the bathroom. It doesn't have good lighting and the bathrooms don't have locks, which makes it uncomfortable every time someone pushes the door.

I went to Mexicali for the first time , my advice get a reservation there long wait to get in . The food was ok but small portions, the chips were stale . Not fresh or warm .. unless u ask for them u won’t get them ., the place was dark had a hard time reading the menu there better places out there

I would give Mexicali on Shrewsberry Street zero stars if possible. I came in to get fajitas because I found an online gift certificate that my coworkers bought for me during Christmas time because I was hospitalized. I was really excited when I found the gift certificate $60, but when I got to the restaurant, the hostess said that she cannot accept this online gift card because they only accept card gift cards. If someone pays money for a gift certificate, they cannot refuse it. Her excuse was that they can’t scan the gift certificates, but there was a card number right next to it. Horrible horrible customer service I will never return and your food sucks!
