We hired Mara and her team for our wedding cake and they did a phenomenal job! From the beginning of cake tasting and sitting down with Mara to come up with what we wanted for our day to the day of the event we have nothing but great things to say. We wanted something simple and chose a smaller cake to cut into and a total of three different flavors cakes for guests (red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting, chocolate cake and raspberry frosting, and lastly vanilla cake and vanilla frosting for those who like to keep it simple). The cakes were so moist and flavorful. Our guests couldn’t stop saying how delicious they were and where they were from. We even got an anniversary cake that we cannot wait to eat again. We are so grateful and thankful for this bakery and making our bellies full and tastebuds so happy. 🥰

Just went in this morning because I was in the mood for a breakfast treat! So thrilled to see many gluten free options. My egg sandwich on a gluten free wrap was chefs kiss! Delicious! Can’t wait to eat some of the gluten free goodies I also purchased! Will be back!

We got our wedding cake from On the Rise, and we have no regrets. We tried a couple other Worcester bakeries, but they seemed pretentious and “woowoo” if you get my drift. On the Rise Bakery is situated in a lovely, homey part of Worcester and fits the definition of quaint, which I so appreciate and was looking for in a bakery.
Our tasting was done about 9 months prior, which was free and included a personal discussion with Mara about things like our favorite colors, which flavors we liked out of the samples, as well as our wedding colors. If I recall, we paid around $500 for our cake, which was well within my expectations.
When we got to our wedding day in May 2023, the staff at Worcester Art Museum and On the Rise worked together very efficiently; when we arrived right before the ceremony, Mara was putting her final touches on our cake. It was absolutely gorgeous! The cake not only looked stunning (we got many compliments that it was the most beautiful wedding cake some guests had ever seen), but it tasted oh so delicious (we ended up going with two different cake flavors and different buttercreams).
As we just celebrated our one-year anniversary, we pulled out the anniversary topper On the Rise gave us, which had kept well in the back of the freezer and still tasted so good.
