This is such a wonderful place! Had a breakfast sandwich, outstanding, coffee was superb! Staff was very friendly. Excellent book selection. Local artist support 💜 . Good spot for vegan/vegetarian. Worth checking out!

Fabulous vibe, great books, drool-worthy vegan & traditional food!

I have come here several times now to work remotely, enjoy some delicious food, and purchase items from the retail area.

Pros: the food and drinks are high quality. Everything I have had has tasted delicious, generous portions, and quality ingredients.

Unique retail area- I have purchased items for myself as well as gifts. The selection has a decent variety of unique and quality items.

Inviting atmosphere

Cons: parking is not ideal. They have no designated lot and street parking on Shrewsbury St can be a pain, but you can usually find something, just might take some searching.

Prices for food and drink are a little high. I am a foodie, eat out quite a bit and don’t mind spending money on good quality food. The prices are just a bit steep, for example it was cost $24 for a turkey sandwich and iced coffee. Not outrageous, but really?

Their wifi is not reliable. Most times I am coming here to eat and work and the wifi is not great. Not fast and the last time I went there it was cutting in and out and I actually had to leave because I could not get work done.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Everyone is so kind and welcoming, and the food is always excellent. I love the attached bookstore and little trinkets that they sell. I have several food allergies, and I can't tell you how nice it is to find somewhere that accommodates food allergies like they do here. 5 stars all around!

Cozy atmosphere, delicious food with a variety of vegan & gluten free options outside of the norm. Baked goods were on point and the staff was friendly and kind. To top it all off they have vegan candy bars 👍

We ordered the Hummus Avocado Toast, the GF Avocado Toast, the Turkey Panini, French Fries, and Home Fries. For drinks we had the Espresso Macchiato, Hibiscus Iced Tea, Matcha Latte and the Honey Blossom. I really liked that we could order our drinks with oat milk. The Turkey Panini was generous in portion and our friend liked a lot. The hummus avocado toast and home fries were my favorite! Servers were friendly. The place is cute and the ambiance is pleasant. I personally loved the children’s area. Excellent dining experience!

Had the most delicious lunch here after a long day of traveling. The bookstore was adorable and the staff were so friendly. Impeccable service and chill vibes. Many people studying or working in the bookstore. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options as well. Great spot!

The food is interesting and tasty, the atmosphere is cozy-funky, the service is exceptional, and there are BOOKS! Lots of great books. As a gluten-free diner, I also really appreciate being able to get delicious (not-to-sweet) pastries and french fries from a dedicated fryer.

Root and Press is one of my favorite Worcester establishments of all time. Their vegetarian options are amazing. My favorites are the shrimp sandwich, the mac and cheese, the fruit & berry parfait, the guava avocado smoothie, the sunrise scrambler. Basically the entire menu. The vibes are the best, surrounded by books, always a good playlist going. The staff are kind and helpful. I cannot say enough nice things about this place.

I love stopping by here! It's become a regular for me whenever I'm in the area. Great food, cozy vibes. The staff are always super friendly! This spot always boosts my mood when I need it. I'd probably be here daily if I lived a little closer! 😅

Kitchen is usually slow, so order online ahead of time if you can. Other than that, food and coffee are great! Book selection is great! One of my go-to breakfast/chill spots.
