Any time someone asks for a place to eat, I always recommend Root and Press. My all time favorite place in Worcester. Everything is tasty, fresh, and I love the vibe. Great for brunch and coffee.

Great place to go for a relaxing coffee or a quick bite to eat. And grab a book!

This location has closed. I believe that they moved, but I don't know where. I only rated this because I couldn't comment without it, and I really enjoyed it when it was there.

Have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally had the opportunity to tonight. We were craving breakfast for dinner and each got a scrambler bowl (husband got steak and cheese, I got the greek) and shared a side of Mac and cheese (my craving). Food was absolutely delicious and SO fresh! I also got an iced pomegranate green tea and my husband got a campfire shake - both were so good and I was impressed they even toasted the marshmallow in the shake! Will definitely be back again.

The reviews I read online don't match what I experienced inside, but maybe it's me. I might try again.

Small inside but food is super yummy. I got the Turkey Press Panini with the Mac and Cheese side. My cousin got the gluten free BALT salad. Both items were very tasty. Customer service was great!

Love this place so much that I will be making a special trip to return, despite living 1.5 hours away RT.Books and coffee house combo is a recipe for bliss, so I was predisposed to like it. Their execution is flawless though. SO many delicious and creative menu items that I would come here just as a restaurant.I'm dairy free and they have a HUGE menu of vegan offerings. I was able to get a vegan sandwich with real meat-they flex like that! My spinach artichoke panini came with tomato soup. This is not the sad Campbell's throwaway stuff I grew up with that made me decline most tomato soup offerings thereafter. Their soup was amaaaaaaazing. And it's the perfect complement to the toasted goodness of the accompanying sandwich. This is the best tomato soup I've ever had in my life and I will for sure order it when I return.Super yummy pistachio mocha coffee-smooth! Friendly staff who were patient as I studied their menu like I was cramming for a high school pop test.I scored big with my selection, but I have a feeling I could have ordered almost anything here and loved it.Great independent music playing.I bought two books during my visit-cool, curated collection.

Tasty food with good vegetarian and healthy choices. A charming atmosphere with friendly but not overbearing service. If the weather is nice, eating on the patio outside is lovely! Also check out the bookshelves, of course - a small but well curated selection of titles for sale.Vegetarian options: Many good veg dishes on the menu, beyond saladsDietary restrictions: Many dishes for certain dietary restrictions (veg, fodmap) and often as easily modified as leaving out a topping.

Lots of variety and a great selection of vegetarian/vegan choices. Everything I've tried has been delicious! And love the specialty coffee drinks, which is saying a lot since that's not normally my go-to!
