Stillman is a local business with fine products.

Bought a bone-in pork shoulder from the farmer market in Brookline, it seemed ok at first and I froze it immediately but I'd noticed it was packed 6 days prior to the sale.Thawed it out and got ready to marinate but it had gone bad immediately. I know all sales are final but I just blew a good deal of money on an expired cut of meat. It's unfortunate given I had a good experience previously with a chicken stock pack but as of right now I can't recommend it.

What a hidden gem! Kate, and the whole crew are fantastic to work with. They utilize a little different system, you place your order online, they process the order on Mondays, and depending on the size of the order ship it out by Wednesday. This is so your order arrives by Friday and is not sitting over the weekend in a distribution center. I say based on size because I did have one very large order they carried over until the next week to ship. The quality is very high. While they are not inexpensive. This is a case where you get what you pay for. If you’re still in doubt, try a pound of applewood smoked bacon… it’s insanely good and a find myself adding a few pounds to every order. Conversely, their sausage utilizes a fine grind, much finer than that you would find in supermarkets making for a mushy consistency and just not my cup of tea. The variety of cuts is good. The steaks well marbled and favorable. Their bundles represent an excellent value for the dollar. Holiday orders arrive on time. They remind me of a time before the mega markets and each town had a small local butcher… you knew what to expect and it was consistently good. Definitely worth trying.

We order a 1/4 cow the steaks are good but so far all the ground beef we opened is spoiled smells like rotten eggs it was so awful, smell lingered for a full day. We have 30 pounds of ground beef and i just opened the 4th pack and again rotten meat. My husband emailed the owner about it but to no surprise we did not get a response. I will not buy from this farm again! We received rotten ground beef that supposedly was packaged in May! I am sure the rest of the ground beef is not good as 4 packs in row were rotten. What a shame.

Came across their stall at the farmers market in Canton, MA and bought a skirt steak and their chimi, both of which were excellent. Oyster mushrooms in the photo were from a different vendor at the same market (High Tide).

Someone recommended Stillman, when i called they told me to wait 2 month to process my 1 chicken (month of May). i called and they told me i need a certificate, okay got it- then was told they cant process my chicken because they can only do a min of 20 chickens... i wish i was told 2 months ago about that, so i didnt have to waste my time. -_-

WOW! The beef and guiness pot pie was delicious- lots of beef, excellent flavor, amazing crust. Super filling and loved the easy cooking instructions on the website. It was my first time ordering and cant recommend it enough to have these easy to make dinners on hand during a busy month. The rosemary garlic sausage made an amazing soup and cant wait to try the meatballs in my freezer next!

The meats were flavored and delicious way better than any local meat shops

At the Brookline Farmer's Market today, a middle aged female was working the Stillman Meats booth. She aggressively told off an older Asian man, and added that if he wants to buy from them, he should "learn how to speak English". We called Stillman Meats to report this, and the woman we spoke to was incredibly indifferent. Vendors are human, we get it, we all have bad days. But remarks like these are never ok. We will not be buying from and support Stillman Meats.

1. If you like being charged $225 for one turkey and the staff gets irritated when you mention it to them...plus dealing with their refusal of any accountability, then by all means, go here (staff member, who was apparently a last-minute volunteer, argued that I never paid the full price online without any supporting back up docs to support her argument- just off the cuff as if I should just take her word when I already paid in full... She obviously didn't want to be there and had a hair-trigger temper because she went from 0 to 100 the moment I brought up that there had to be a mistake with my charges. How arrogant must she be to be so decidedly certain that I never paid in full when she just started there and had no means to even look it up? She addressed me like some deadbeat who was trying to get out of paying and demanded my card or else no turkey.. the attitude was just "Shut up and pay me and I don't want to hear any complaint whatsoever.")... I did not pay this expensive price and drive through back country for an hour just to have to walk on eggshells and be verbally bullied... 2. If you like paying for delivery...only to have that feature taken away with little notice...and never once being OFFERED reimbursement for the $25 delivery fee, then by all means come here. I've never had people treat me so disrespectfully. I attempted to mention that it was a long drive, and had I known there would be no delivery, I would never have ordered it to begin with... When I said this I was repeatedly and rudely cut off with comments about staffing issues and the Pandemic. For what they charge (and DOUBLE charge) there should be at least a minimal effort to provide at least halfway decent customer service and a minimal effort to be civil. Note: when you give attitude from the get-go and disrespect a customer and their valid question you have lost your right to expect respect in return. If you work at a business, and you feel that a customer is being unreasonable because she asks that you check and maintain records of customer payments, and you refuse because it's easier for YOU to just charge again, then it's high time you close your business. The keeping of payment records should be a given. Stop holding the Pandemic responsible for what is clearly, your refusal to treat customers decently on even a basic level. After all this nonsense and AFTER double-charging me they commented that I was lucky to get any turkey. This isn't a food bank! I paid TOP DOLLAR for an average turkey and that entitled me to get one, without being double charged and without the extreme attitude. We do not owe you free money. You owe US what we PAID for- that's how it works.

Hardwick, MA. Look at Yelp and you'll get a more accurate picture. A business worth anything will honor a customer reservation. SQM doesn't have a clue how to track orders and even worse, there's no accountability. What you did manage to do is double-charge..$102.00 and $119.00- I just checked my account. $221.00 for one 15 lb. turkey?? Conveniently, no computer there. The staff person went from snarkily sniping, "I don't know, I just work here." to being so decidedly certain that I hadn't paid anything. Based on what exactly...your faulty memory? With no supporting documentation she then insisted that I had paid only a $60.00 deposit. Wrong.. try $102.00 on Oct. 15th. She then swiped my card for the FULL AMOUNT of... $119.00??? That price is for a bigger turkey. She didn't even deduct the $60.00 deposit she argued with me about. She shouldn't have charged anything at all... Try this at a bank. This is money; documentation is a must. Customer service was bordering on abusive. After all this, she acted as if I should be happy just to get a turkey at all. I drove an hour out of my way and was still charged $25.00 for delivery.. She's in for a rude awakening in life because no place I've worked in would tolerate attitude like that. If you advertise delivery only to reneg at the last minute, at least remove the $25.00 delivery fee. How can you expect us to sympathize with your staffing issues when you've given no thought or reparations to the customers whom you charged the $25.00? The ridiculous pricing for a turkey warrants white glove service- not this. Not that I expected it..but the basics would have been nice- not the haughty attitude I got upon my first attempt to ask a simple question. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells. She wasn't just rude, she was mean and obviously accustomed to having people put up with it (I'm not that person.). The cavalier attitude as if we should just pay the extra $ was ridiculous. It's MONEY..you can't just wing it. Stop blaming the Pandemic. This was a refusal to keep a basic accounting plus refusal to accommodate (acting instead, as if we should accommodate you). Without basic accounting and order-tracking you can't run a business. Too many are taking advantage the Pandemic get away with what was once unthinkable. This Pandemic killed the last shred of personal responsibility. I drove an hour through bumble*&^% WMass off the 32, where pickup trucks tailgate you if you're "only" speeding 20 miles over the speed limit (always the same toxic demographic). I only ordered it because it was supposed to come with delivery. They waited until the last minute to inform me that no delivery was happening.. and I only found out because I called. After paying $102.00 online and having to drive out there- there should have been a turkey waiting there for me with my name on it and with NO issues. This is the last time I support a local farm in this area. People won't keep coming if you treat them like garbage and expect them to shut up and pay all this extra money we don't owe. For a $102.00 up-front so-called reservation (plus $119.00 more) we shouldn't be treated as if we're lucky to get a turkey. The owner gave herself a 5 star review. Sad. If you need to do that it's a bad sign. I have zero faith they'll adjust the charges. My bank will make it right if this place doesn't. By the way, a supermarket bag that costs $1 can hold a turkey. Bought in bulk, they cost even less. Your decision to present the turkeys in flimsy plastic bags that rip immediately showed poor judgment and symbolizes the disdainful and cavalier attitude you have toward your customers. It is you who should be grateful to have any customers at all. This was, hands down, the most horrible food-related customer service I've experienced. I normally get a turkey at the store; all the hype about not enough turkeys was just that... hype.

Bought a heritage breed turkey, 16 lbs. worst bird we have ever purchased. Was clearly bruised prior to processing and still sold at a premium price, turkey leg was broken, I finished plucking. Wanted more for my money

It’s the only place in town I can find guanciale to make carbonara. The staff was friendly and it’s a cute place!

Just received an email from Stillman. Appears they have an additional phone number not listed anywhere on the website or Facebook page. But the person who contacted me seemed eager to help. I will update again as things progress.Quality work will definitely use them again
