Sunday 12:30 Brunch menu: The service, the drinks and the food were all outstanding. The drinks are a little pricey, but so delicious. Lively atmosphere but no problem hearing everyone in the party or the waitstaff. Definitely recommend!

We just had a large group dining at the Mercantile Saturday night. We were seated promptly and our server Xavier was just a delight. He was so thorough and attentive and took amazing care of us. One of our group even left a bag behind accidentally and he chased us out to the sidewalk to return it. Our food was delicious and we just had a fantastic experience. Would totally come back!

Let me start with why I chose The Mercantile: every time I'd sit across the way at Ruth's Chris, I'd look over and think, “That place looks cool—great vibe, great energy.” So yesterday, when deciding where to take my family for a nice meal, between The Sole Proprietor, Boynton, or Ruth's Chris, we went with something new: The Mercantile. It was a great day to be out in Worcester. The Monet exhibit was around the corner, the Worcester Railers had a game, and downtown had good energy. Unfortunately, The Mercantile didn't match that energy. Despite having a reservation for five and showing up 30 minutes early, we were told we couldn't be seated, not because it was busy, but because they were understaffed. The dining room was wide open, plenty of empty seats. Here's the frustrating part: I'm patient. I can deal with delays. But the demeanor from the hostesses was completely unnecessary, snooty and dismissive, with zero hustle or care that customers were walking out in droves. If I were the owner watching that many paying customers turned away on a prime night, I'd be furious. I couldn't help but think: this place doesn't have a staff issue, it has a leadership issue. Now to be fair, the drinks were solid, the food was good, and our server was fantastic. But the front-end experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that the rest couldn't make up for it. I should've gone to The Sole, at least I know what I'm getting there. No hard feelings, truly. I wanted to like the place. Sincerely, A Customer Who Wanted to Love It!

Went there on a Saturday at 11:30 am. Didn't realize it was just a brunch menu but that was fine, the four of us all found something to our liking. Service was very good and we liked the ambiance. The group consensus was the food was fine - "average" is probably a better way to describe it. I ordered a salad with a side of chicken and found the portion to be small and the meal was dry. We thought the prices were on the high side. Probably won't rush back.

Great food, good portion sizes and good prices. Always busy and lively with a fun crowd and good staff.

Our waitress was fine, food was good BUT the bar service was incredibly poor! Waited over 15 minutes for one cocktail, our waitress apologized for delay and shared our concern to manager and brought him over. He was condescending and made us feel as we were wasting his time. Wondering if all your managers are this way. He didn't offer anything (app/dessert) just attitude. Will be thinking twice before going back.

Our server was outstanding! Food was good - however they sat us (4 adults) pretty much in a half shoe box booth???? Was way too tight! Super uncomfortable & we were elbow to elbow with feet hanging off for extra room'

We were going to a concert at the DCU center, so I made reservations for dinner prior, which was the right call. They were booked solid by the time we went, and we would have been turned away without the res. The service was great; friendly hostess, great waitress. The food was very good. I got a Burro Bowl, which was white rice with black beans, corn, pineapple-mango salsa, and a Chipotle crema. I passed on adding a protein, and it was still big enough and filling enough that I couldn't finish. My husband got a smash burger and fries, and he finished his whole plate, which is unusual for him, so I'm guessing it was very good as well. The prices were incredibly reasonable, and with those and two beers each, it only came out to about $73, which was a nice surprise. Highly recommended.

We went for brunch with a lot of restricted eaters and there was something for everyone. Really interesting menu, lots of choices I wanted to try. Good service. Beautiful restaurant. Will very much go again.

It's National Oyster Day & I'm hooked on The Mercantile's offer of $1 oysters with strawberry mignonette from 4-6, Monday to Thursday, is unbeatable. I also devoured their goat cheese bites, crispy broccoli, & boom boom shrimp, all incredible appetizers. My friends' mac & cheese with buffalo shrimp & lobster fettuccine were insane. To top it off Claire, our waitress, was absolute perfection. Back to the mac & cheese - top tier!

Overall it's nice. Food was good, nothing amazing. Drinks were good. Wasn't anything overall mind blowing. For the cost of drinks feel like should be mind blowing.
