Today, we visited one of the 99 Restaurants locations. Being a Sunday evening, waiting 15–20 minutes for a table was expected, so I don’t consider that a minus. We were a party of three: two adults and one child. The order sounded delicious on paper: Ribeye steak, chicken tenders, french fries, and Steak & Cheese flatbread, accompanied by a couple of beers. The bill came to exactly $100.
The service, as always, was excellent: the staff were friendly, smiling, and welcoming. Everything matched our previous positive experiences with this chain… but this time, something happened that we didn’t expect.
Right outside the entrance, there was a strong, persistent smell of burnt grill. My assumption is that the grill grate hadn’t been cleaned since the start of the shift. This also affected the main dish — the Ribeye steak. Instead of a juicy, perfectly cooked cut of meat, we were served a charred steak: the fat was black, and the taste had a strong bitterness that couldn’t be masked. And for $30 — it was a complete disappointment. I won’t be ordering this steak again.
To be fair, the rest of the food was excellent — a solid five out of five. But the aftertaste of this visit wasn’t culinary, it was emotional — and unfortunately, it came with a hint of bitterness.

My husband and I go here all the time for dinner! We love the chicken tenders and honey mustard! It's always so good! The honey mustard here is the best I've ever had! The mozzarella moons are to die for!! Staff is always so friendly! Will be coming here many times more! 😊

It seems there was a slight issue with the steak preparation, as it was ordered medium but arrived well done.
Just go buy food from the grocery store in a can and slid it out onto a plate like dog food l, heat and enjoy. Save yourself the trip and the shame.

Took my dad for dinner here tonight. It was super busy as it’s in the middle of summer. Only a 10 min wait, staff was super friendly, and the food was exceptional. So much so that I had to come to write this review. Had the fried calamari, haddock, asked for the lemon capers sauce with it, I ate every bite! Will definitely be back! Try the calamari if you get the chance! My dad who said he didn’t like calamari ended up eating half the plate 😂
