Great place to eat and meet friends!!

We were a little worried because its a restaurant attached to a gas station, but we were very happy. Service was great and breakfast was fast and delicious.

Last week I placed an order for pick up after work. Working at the hospital and I am staying at motel as I live in Winnipeg .

Get there orders not ready they have no record , this was the second night this happened to me the night before it was at Boston Pizza . They were pretty rude at the BP.

Anyhow I was explaining my frustration to Mercedes , and she was really nice . She gave me a break on the price , skipped past all the tip options before she handed me the card machine and had the kitchen expedite my order. Didn’t have to wait long .
She was very friendly, polite and made it a good experience . We go to Smitty’s all the time at home in Winnipeg love the food.

Ordered the Senior roast beef. The serving was a "chunk" of roast beef on the plate. It was very hard to cut, even with a steak knife, was dry and unappetizing. I expected it to sliced as restaurants normally do. I would never serve roast beef in my home by putting large pieces on the plate. It needs to be sliced thin and drizzled with gravy!!
The salad, potatoes, and vegetables were good.

Great breakfast, their coffee could do a little more work on it sometimes it was watered down.
I also find it funny how they give you caraf full of coffee for you to self pour but charge you for two people if you say for two, but if otu say one coffee they charge you for one but there is enough for two... what is the deal with that? Also, why 6 dollars for cheap coffee?

Lovely service , food is alright, a tad Over-priced, but the nachos are a GREAT DEAL, yummy! Kids got to them before we got a pic but nevertheless, great!

Worst smittys I've ever been to and by the way I work at a smittys in winnipeg. Service there is terrible 1 girl told me she couldn't help me because she was about to clock out. They have a tiny portion of the appetizers other locations offer. I was going to order wings asked for all flats was told no. Ok not the end of the world. Then I asked for half my wings to be 2 flavors half and half something smittys is known for doing and was told no they don't do that here. Excuse me? Again I work at a smittys how hard is it to count 6 wings and toss them? Really? I will never stop at this location ever again. Have you ever heard the phrase say yes to your customers to keep them happy and bring them back? I think this location depends highly on highway traffic or would likely be closed long ago.

Ps I walked out and went to A&W instead

We hadn't been to a Smitty's restaurant for some time and after this visit, are kicking ourselves in the butt for the delay!! Upon entering the restaurant we were very cordially greeted by a most personable young lady. When she saw me using a walker, she showed us to a table quite close to the entrance -- very thoughtful. When we looked at the menu, we were very pleased to see a good variety of meals but were a wee bit surprised at the prices. But when we saw what was delivered to the table beside us, we could plainly see why they were just a touch high -- very generous portions!! We decided to avoid burgers and instead ordered a Western Skillet and a Meat-Lovers Skillet. The coffee that were were given (our own potful) was great -- full-flavour without being overly strong and the coffee creamers that came were of three delicious varieties so it was fun experimenting as to which taste to try (did them all!!). It did not take too long before our meal arrived and both of us were greatly impressed with the appearance and size of the portions. The first bite told it all -- delicious and superbly prepared. Sad to say, that did not leave room for dessert. The waitress came back several times to check our "status" with our meals and to indulge in a light, general, pleasant conversation. All in all, a wonderful experience that we would not only HIGHLY recommend but one that we plan to repeat time and time again. Thanks to all who made this a most enjoyable and memorable stop-over.
