Lakehouse is a fantastic restaurant and cafe. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. There’s a hotel at the back, which I often stay at when visiting Riding Mountain National Park. The room is always super clean and has cozy vibes to it. There is a hot tub available for use.
The area has plenty to do nearby, including hiking trails, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Many shops close during the winter, but Lakehouse stays open, which is great. I visited in winter, when the area was already covered in snow. Summer offers even more activities, making it a great spot year-round.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Lakehouse for the past five years, always recommending it to friends. However, my recent experience was a complete disappointment. I ordered restaurant food for takeout from their online menu and was told to wait for 30 minutes. I paid directly from their online system because it needs to be charged ahead. After 30 minutes, I went to the restaurant and was informed that the dish I had ordered was no longer available due to their outdated system. They claimed to have tried contacting me, but I didn’t receive a single phone call or message in the last 30 minutes. They gave me a “new” menu and asked me to choose another dish. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any other options that fit my dietary restrictions, so I had to ask for a refund. They didn’t ask me if I wanted the refund to be credited to my credit card or given to me in cash. The waitress directly worked on their system and said it was done, but I was still worried about getting my money back. I asked her again to confirm that I would receive a refund. I was concerned because I only stayed at Lakehouse for one night and didn’t want to lose my money. I asked for a cash refund, but they refused. They simply said that if I didn’t get my money back, I could call them later. I was shocked by their lack of customer service and their refusal to refund by cash. I’m very disappointed with this experience and don’t think I’ll be returning. I hope the restaurant owner sees this post and takes action to improve their service. Thanks for reading!

I got one of their tater tot Benedict’s. It was fantastic. Prices are a little high but it’s worth it. The interior is lovely. The little shop inside is very expensive but beautiful

Had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was in pristine condition - clean, comfortable and quiet. Very short walk to the beach, shops, Riding Mountain National Park visitor centre, restaurants. The Lakehouse restaurant itself was very good (had the pickerel, naturally, so good). Parking is on the street or the lot across the street. Check-in was contactless, which I always appreciate. Would stay here again for sure.

Four of us dined here on a busy Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed our supper—the food was absolutely delicious. That said, we couldn’t help but notice that there was only one server on the floor. Armand did an outstanding job managing everything on his own and remained friendly and professional throughout, despite the obvious pressure. While we appreciate his efforts, we hope management takes steps to ensure better staffing during peak times to support both staff and customers.

Dined at Lakeside Sept 30. Great atmosphere, orders the salmon cevice bowl and it was exceptional. Armand was our server and he was great.

Had supper at Lakehouse . I had the teriyaki chicken bowl and my wife had the salmon bowl. Food was fresh , nice portion, and tasted fantastic. We were served by Armando who was very helpful and an excellent server. Really enjoyed the evening and would highly recommend if you are in Clear Lake.

Delicious food! So yummy. I got the pull pork sandwich and fries. It was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. Super soft bun, sauce was on point! Fries were amazing! Cozy vibes. Our server was very sweet :)

When you make a reservation for noon and then they tell you they can't seat you then they tell you they can't even give you Waters and then they tell you the kitchen is backed up it makes you wonder why anyone would ever go here. Very disappointed. I will never be back. Absolute garbage. Why take reservations if you're not ready for them.
