Best hot and sour soup in the world! My family has been eating here weekly my entire life. I don’t live in portage anymore but I never come to town without stopping in to eat and say hi. There is no where like this place. Not only is the food absolutely delicious but the owners are the most amazing people you will ever meet. If I could give Dicks more than 5 stars I would. Thank you George, Mita, Jimmy and Sherry!

A great place to get great Chinese Food. The portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable, people are friendly and the service is exceptional. This is the best Chinese Food in Portage la Prairie. Some nights you just want to eat at home and it's very tasty and really good as take out but it is always way better to dine in, the fresh flavor is the best! Try it out, you will like it!

Always make this a must stop when we're in town. Best lemon chicken and crispy beef with orange sauce.

Tried their “sweet and sour chicken ball combo plate” and it left a lot to be desired. Chicken balls are huge due to too much breading, the chop suey was abysmal and the lady on the phone didn’t seem too friendly. First and last time for me personally.

Went for a date here once because she was obsessed with it. Best hot and sour soup I've ever had.

Had lunch at Dicks Cafe in Portage, portion was average but food was very bland and taseless. Egg roll was 2.75 and very small, looked like it came from Costco. Not going back.

Food was good enough just on the bland side. Good size portions.

Amazing food and very friendly staff 😊 Flavourful and good variety, exactly what I want when ordering from a small town Chinese restaurant! Definitely going to go back.

I love this place….we live in Vancouver and met family for dinner here….it was amazing! The owner and staff were very friendly and hospitable. The food was delicious! We drove from Winnipeg as we heard it was excellent and we were not disappointed. We will definately be back❤️❤️

Dick's Café has been a mainstay restaurant on Portage's Saskatchewan Avenue for decades. It has a long history, and my family has been eating there regularly for decades. Can never fault the food. Traditional Chinese with special menu options always make for a filling and entertaining evening out. Offer really good takeaway service too.

This place was recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint.
The food was very good.
I really enjoyed the Cantonese Chow Mein, and the ginger beef was also very good.
The portions are nice and big.
