“We were greeted at the door by the owner who is very welcoming.  She was also very friendly and attentive while serving us, and we also enjoyed chatting with her afterwards. We selected the buffet, which had a large selection of interesting dishes to choose from along with two dessert options.  All the food was fresh and hot, mildly spiced and very flavourful.  The mango dessert was very tasty.  Everything we tried was delicious. Pricing was reasonable.The restaurant is very nicely decorated, clean, and has a relaxing atmosphere.  This was our first time here, we had an enjoyable dining experience and were impressed with everything.  Can't wait until when next in Portage, as we plan to revisit here to try some other dishes. I highly recommend dining here!”

“I got the Buffalo chicken poutine. It looks very pretty but it was not that good. The sauce is abit spicy and has a strong taste of ranch. The flavour is very overpowering and you don’t taste the poutine gravy or cheese. I wish I had went with a different item on their menu. Also, the portions were way too big. I also wish there had a small version and a regular size version. Lastly, the waitress did not come to the table to ask how the food was. They only asked me when I was cashing out and by that time it was too late.”

“The BEST authentic Mexican food I have had North of Mexico. (And I had Mexican roommates) The Birra tacos are my ultimate comfort food. The margaritas pair beautifully, the guac is fresh and portions of food are perfect. 11/10 You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, and the staff are so friendly and genuinely happy to see you. Don't let this tiny restaurant fool you. They are big on taste!”

“If you are looking for Chinese food in Portage La Prairie, this is an excellent choice. Locals recommended this restaurant to me, and it did not disappoint. Food is tasty, well prepared and reasonably priced. I have enjoyed both the take out and eat in options at this restaurant. The ambience is very retro. The restaurant itself is authenticate back to its roots. The Memories of Portage Facebook has pictures of Dick’s back in the 60’s (courtesy of Charlie Brennan) and the restaurant is almost unchanged. Family owned and staffed, there is a pride in this restaurant that makes for an excellent experience. Highly recommend.”

“Literally the most amazing place I have found since coming to Canada 2 years ago, not only is their food AMAZING, especially the handmade egg rolls; and the staff is very sweet and friendly; but I also had my service dog with me and not only did they accommodate him to give him room and make him comfortable (he's a giant breed), but the cook came out and asked if he could make my service dog his own dish! (Which he absolutely did). I have never seen so much respect for service animals ♥️♥️ HIGHLY recommended!!!Dietary restrictions: They are very careful about my severe mushroom allergy which is a huge thing for me!”
