Our visit coincided with the second last weekend the Sunday buffet is open so we celebrated by trying some authentic Mennonite food.And soooo much good food. Like going home to moms house where there's always lots to eat and lots of people to talk to.Simple, homemade fare, delicious desserts and plenty of hot coffee or tea to wash it down with.
Being of Mennonite decent... it's always nice to come back to my roots and have a traditional meal like Mom would have prepared. Have been coming back at least once a year for nearly 25 years.Highly recommended.Notice some of the other comments... that I guess are Critical tourists that don't understand what the Heritage Museum represents or is about. The museum is run by mostly volunteers... in a time when volunteers are hard to find. Be kind to them... or we will end...
If you want to enjoy the food that kept a farming culture sustained for hundreds of years, this is the place for you!
But... If you want to truly earn the right to eat here, you might want to sling 1,000 hay bales first ;)
