It took over an hour to get a chicken burger that wouldn't even pass at McDonald's. The skinniest, tiniest portion of chicken breast that was breaded and overdone. Completely overpriced. Will not return.

Food is okay. Service was terrible by the owner herself. She came off disrespectful. Gave away a seat that was promised to us to someone else. Found her conduct extremely condescending towards the waitresses and the customers. Felt very disorganized. The space is just too small for a restaurant.

Such a great place! The food was amazing, and our server was really nice and friendly; she even answered our questions about the area very patiently.
We tried three different restaurants there, and 1929 was the best.

Ordered the outrageous nachos. All of the toppings were on the top. Not layered through. I told the informed the waitress who said she would let the kitchen know. Not a great answer. We ate them as we were very hungry and the wait was long. If we decided to go back it would not be for the nachos!!

Incorrect prices posted directly on their website for nachos. When the take out order was placed, they did not mention a total and hung up before I was able to ask. At the point of sale, I inquired as to why the price was so different from there website they informed me the prices had changed and refused to honour the price even after they were shown the incorrect price.

For the make your own nachos, instead of paying the indicated $30 + any applicable fees and taxes, we were charged $48.

Service was good, drinks were great and well priced, food was subpar to say the least (price to quality ratio was garbage)

A memorable meal, but not in a good way.

The quality of proteins in each meal were that of a no name plastic bag of fish sticks and burger patties from your budget grocery store. Found frozen to the bottom of your chest freezer from years ago, as you could not smother enough sauce on them to convince yourself that they were good.

Can't say the service was much better.

Never try to imagine the online menu will tell you what you can order, arrived there for a simple pizza and heard: “sorry its outdated and we don’t have pizza for several years”. Maybe they don’t have money to get the menu updated.

Not busy at all but food (an order of nachos and two kids chicken fingers) took over 50 minutes. Our waitress came to our table one time. She mentioned that the kitchen apologized for the wait but another table that came in got their nachos in literally 15 minutes. Price for the nachos was the same as a steak and they were okay at best. Wouldn’t come here again.

Place used to be much better until new management took over. There used to be no capacity and now they treat it like prime Covid. Witnessed a 90 year old wait outside and get the West Nile disease due to bug bites. Terrible, just terrible.

My wife and daughter both had an Alfredo dish that was extremely bland. I ordered the pickerel fish, and for almost $30 it had no sides and two fillets. Extremely overpriced and could have included at least 1 side… also slightly raw on the end of one fillet.

The service was excellent however! they even dropped off a coloring book and crayons for my daughter.

We visited Clear Lake this week and ate at this restaurant. First of all, the waitress who served us was very kind and respectful, so I can't say anything bad about her.
What I do have to say is that we had to wait almost two hours after placing our order. The food was quite bad; the meat was undercooked, and the broccoli soup tasted worse than baby food, with no flavor whatsoever. I think these types of restaurants hire teenagers to serve and cook for minimum wage, and that's where the mistake lies. You should hire an adult who knows how to cook in the kitchen and ensure that customers return because they liked the food. Aside from that, it's an overpriced place, with a $30 hamburger, and what's worse, it tastes so salty and inedible. Restaurants and business owners in Clear Lake should pay attention! Read up and get busy creating quality places that keep happy people coming back, not requiring you to post bad reviews.
