Waited 45 mins for a salad & a chicken burger and other 12 mins for our bill which we had to hunt down and pay for. We will NOT be coming back. We miss the Wigwam.

We went last night only for drinks. They were very short staffed and had the lounge closed off due to lack of staff. The restaurant area was almost full and Derrick who was our server and our bartender was fast at taking our orders, bringing our drinks and checking in on us. He never kept us waiting for any of the drinks we ordered. He was good at advising which drinks to try and which he could alter. It was a pleasure having him serve us. I still don’t know how he was able to be so fast.

We decided to try for an early dinner (430) Saturday, knowing it was quite busy in the park. We went inside and were told it was an hour wait for a table inside - we asked about the patio - it was quite cool out but we had been hiking and were dressed for the weather. The hostess took us straight out with menus - we asked if she knew the soup of the day and she didn’t but said our server would be out shortly. When our server arrived, we asked if she knew what the soup was - she didn’t know either, so had to go and ask. She also asked the kitchen about whether the pickerel could be prepared dairy free. Our teens each ordered a pasta for $28 each - decent sized portion but neither ate more than half and said it was just “meh” - not a lot of flavour, and the chicken was quite tough to chew. My husband had the pickerel for $28 - it does not come with any sides, so he asked for fries ($9). It was two small pan fried fillets that could have used a little longer cooking for sure, and one was full of bones (which was noted on the menu - but this was excessive, very poorly filleted) and a small dish of fries. I had the pickerel tacos for $27 that came with the same sized order of fries, included in the price. My plate had more food than any of the other three for $1 less, which is sort of strange. The tacos had deep fried fish fingers, what looked and tasted like the very green grocery store coleslaw, some lettuce shreds and creamy dill sauce. It was ok though. We each just had water. Our total was $134. The server was very nice and attentive and the food came pretty quickly. We are on a pretty tight budget but wanted to have a treat dinner out together before back to school - it was fairly dear considering the quality and strange pricing given the size of the portions. We should have reviewed the menu prior to going, but it was a last minute decision and was meant to be a treat. Would hesitate to go back, though.

The bison burger was a little dry but the atmosphere in that historic place was great

I ordered the fish for $28, two small fillets and it comes with no sides. You have to pay $10 for each tiny side. That's ridiculous and a money grab. We have been coming since I was a child but this will be our last visit to this restaurant.

It took over an hour to get a chicken burger that wouldn't even pass at McDonald's. The skinniest, tiniest portion of chicken breast that was breaded and overdone. Completely overpriced. Will not return.

Food is okay. Service was terrible by the owner herself. She came off disrespectful. Gave away a seat that was promised to us to someone else. Found her conduct extremely condescending towards the waitresses and the customers. Felt very disorganized. The space is just too small for a restaurant.

Such a great place! The food was amazing, and our server was really nice and friendly; she even answered our questions about the area very patiently.
We tried three different restaurants there, and 1929 was the best.
