Good service and food quality. Fit me in during busy supper rush from out of town
This used to be my favourite AYCE sushi restaurant in the city. I've been coming here regularly for the past few years, but after our experience last night with an extremely rude server, we won’t be returning and I hope no other customers ever get treated the way we were treated last night.
We arrived around 8:30 PM — an hour before their last call at 9:30 PM — and placed our order within five minutes of being seated. By 9 PM, we had received about half of what we ordered. When it was time for their last call, we wanted to add a few more items to what we were still waiting on.
When the server came to collect our last call order sheet, we asked if the rest of our original order was still coming. She said she wasn’t sure, as it had been taken by another server, but she would check with the kitchen. She came back and told us the kitchen might have accidentally thrown away our original order sheet, and asked us to let her know what we were still missing.
I started to name the items — spicy butterfish and spicy salmon — but she cut me off because she didn’t understand what I was referring to. She asked if I meant sashimi, and I clarified that I was referring to nigiri sushi. Still confused, she went back to the kitchen and returned with a new order sheet — but only gave us the top right section, which listed only sushi rolls (none of which we had ordered).
I tried to explain that the items we were missing weren’t on that portion of the sheet, but she ignored us and told us to just label what we wanted. I had no choice but to write down the names of the missing items. When she noticed what I was doing, she told me to just mark it down — again, we explained that we hadn't ordered any rolls. She then snatched the sheet away, yelled “OH MY GOSHH,” and stormed back into the kitchen. Finally, she returned with the full order sheet.
At that point, I felt genuinely embarrassed — it felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience. We’re not difficult customers; we simply just wanted the food we ordered. As a server myself, I’ve always been understanding of how busy this place can get, and we’ve dined here many many times before. But last night, the restaurant was actually less busy than usual — only two other tables in our section, and the rest of the restaurant was clearing out as last call approached so we couldn’t understand why we were met with such an attitude.
All of the other servers we’ve encountered here have always been friendly and accommodating, no matter how hectic the night. The other server who took our payment was actually as equally surprised that we didn’t get most of what we ordered, she apologized and offered to ask the kitchen to make them for us for to-go but we didn’t want to wait any longer and they were also about to close (almost 10:30 at that point). It really was just that particular server that was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. We’ve never had an experience like that before — and sadly, we won’t be coming back.

The initial front of house server who seated us was a bit lacking of manners, but the server at our table was great. In terms of food, the hot food on the menu is a 5/5, however the sushi we had was.. weird. I don't know how else to say it, but the taste was 'off' or 'wrong'. It wasn't 'bad', but it was not at all what I expect from sushi. The sashimi was great thought. For the price, I was a bit disappointed with how the sushi was.

TERRIBLE experience. We made a reservation but the table wasn’t set up, and no one told us when it was ready—we had to set it up ourselves. Service was extremely slow and careless, with no greeting at all, and servers handed food into our hands instead of placing it on the table every single time! Food was plain and disappointing. Some dishes were unavailable yet no one bothered to tell us even after we asked three times. On top of that, they forced a 12% service charge without explanation and even chased us for it after we asked to remove it.
Completely unprofessional and frustrating. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

Let me talk about the problems of this store one by one.
First, the sushi here is the worst I've ever had in Winnipeg. The sushi rice is too sour, the udon soup is too sour, and the bacon rolls are fishy.
Secondly, their cold and hot dishes are served at a good speed, which can be maintained within half an hour, but all the sashimi are served very, very slowly. If you want to eat sashimi in this restaurant, you'd better go an hour and a half in advance. When we left, the sashimi we ordered was not served yet. We urged them several times during the period, but they didn't care about us at all.
The last and most important point is that they force us to collect a 12% tip and don't give us any time to operate. When you get the POS machine, you will find that you have been charged a tip, but as I said above, you don't get any service at all. This is simply the most ridiculous thing I have experienced in the 21st century. I feel like I was robbed. We waited for more than an hour for the food during the two hours of dining. During this time, my cup was empty for more than half an hour and no one helped me to refill it. I don't know why they have the confidence to force us to collect tips.
In short, this is not a good place to eat, no one will have a good experience in here!!!!!!!!

Terrible slow service. Waste of money. Ruined birthday.
Came with my brother to celebrate his birthday. In 50 minutes we got only two sushi rolls (one tasted old, like from a fridge) and a few single pieces. Most of the order took more than an hour. It was the same for other tables as everyone was waiting a long time for food. There were only about 10 customers in total. No birthday discount.
They charged $35.49 per person plus tax (buffet). For that price you can eat proper fresh sushi in a real restaurant. Here we left hungry and disappointed.
Never again. Avoid this place. Do not trust the photos of food from this restaurant.

came here and I’ve got a couple things to say. The staff were very friendly and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t rhere faults for the poor service given but I had ordered some rolls and a table who ordered after us but wasn’t doing all you can eat got the rolls before us (ok fine if they are the priority but this is just context to something I noticed) I ordered sashimi among other things and I’m pretty sure they put off giving us the rolls till last after you’ve already filled up on sashimi. I sent the rolls back because it had already been an hour and I asked on 2 separate occasions after 30 mins of waiting where the rolls were. I felt bad for wasting food but I wasn’t going to pay for leftovers that weren’t my fault. Ontop of that both me and my bf are now extremely sick after eating the mussels because they tasted funny. Also the water or the cup was extremely dirty also possibly adding onto why we are now both blowing up the shhitter

The food is okay. The consistency is lacking. One order of an item comes and it's less than adequate, order it again and it's better. The most worrisome concern at this restaurant is their bathroom situation. I could not figure out why there were large garbage bins inside each tight stall. Then I read the note by the toilet paper... you're not allowed to flush toilet paper and must deposit it in the garbage bins. I don't know how that would pass health and safety. Additionally, neither men's or women's bathrooms had paper towels after you try and wash your hands. I will not dine here again as I find that unsanitary especially for a restaurant. Do better!

The waitress was very kind and fit me in when they were fully booked. The service is fast and the food is very good for all you can eat. The all you can eat selection is fantastic, its very big menu there is a lot to choose from. I will absolutely be coming back for all you can eat. I was so satisfied with my visit to A+ Sushi.

The food was srumdidilicious! It was well prepared, nicely displayed and very flavourful. Service was very fast and the waitresses very respectful. I really enjoy coming here and the food is usually very good, but yesterday it was just amazing and I had to write a review. I highly recommend.

I really appreciate the staffs helping us book a last minute table for a five people party. The food was really good, and despite the fact that the place was very busy, the staffs was able to keep their cool, helping us out with our orders and questions, while being very nice and professional. Price wise the all you can eat buffet was good considering how much food we ordered. The wait time is a bit on the longer side, but it make sense since all the food was freshly made to serve.

My friends and I go to A+ Sushi often, and it’s hands down one of the best sushi spots in Winnipeg. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are delicious, and the staff are super friendly. Great vibes, great food—highly recommended!
