Went to Aaltos on Pembina Hwy in Winnipeg tonight for dinner. Some of us had the buffet and the others ordered off the menu. No one enjoyed their food. Food was taken back because it was over cooked. Well actually most of the food was overcooked. The food was terrible all around. The cost of the buffet was way too much for the overcooked garbage they were serving. The meals off the menus were also either overcooked or just plain bland tasting. When this was brought up to the server nothing was done. The manager was also very rude and snotty. We will never go back there and I do not recommend this place to anyone. If I could have given lower than a 1 star I would have. Don’t waste your time or your money at Aaltos.
Some of the seafood was over cooked, butter for the crab came to the table still in solid form (hot crab with cold butter?) Lisa acted annoyed with bringing me refills of my diet coke, we said thank you to her numberous times and got no response. She definetely does not have a friendly personality. I guess we will stick with the Aaltos on Regent. Dissapointed.
Very disappointed with everything. Am being as nice as I can on here
Ordered the Christmas dinner for 20 people for our work place. It was amazing, the price was right and the food quality was perfect. More people should know about this.
Also it saud feeds 20 but it could feed many more!!
They have a very good breakfast special
And the coffee is very good and the service is very friendly
Service was okay but the food is not as good as it used to be. Pretty disappointed actually. The waitress was really nice
Took my work crew of around thirty people for a banquet and,
was very disappointed.
food was cold not good. I will never go there again
It’s a very nice and friendly place. Food is quite decent.

Had a very bad experience for Thanksgiving buffet dinner yesterday. Our party of 6 arrived before the 5 pm reservation but it took almost 30 minutes to be seated. The hostess was definitely having difficulties seating people. Then things got worse. We were seated for quite a while but no waitress arrived at the table. Finally we went searching for her and she told us to go to the buffet and she would eventually get to our table to take drink orders. That happened 30 minutes later. Water orders arrived an hour later and were short one. Two wine orders did arrive sooner since a fellow goes around the tables with a cart specifically serving wine and Bloodie Marys. My green tea arrived just in time for dessert. The food was okay. One big negative was the Vegetable Medley which looked appetizing however the veggies were uncooked and hard as cement. You would have broken your teeth on them. Back at the table, none of our used dishes were cleared. So we took matters into our own hands and moved the used dishes to a vacant table. Other nearby patrons followed our lead. When it came time to get the bill, one of our guests had to chase down the waitress. She printed off the bill but it was incorrect and she had to be chased down again. I did feel very sorry for the waitress. She was clearly inundated with responsibility for too many tables, some of which were not even in the main dining area. We did pay our bill and leave her a good tip. I am sure under other circumstances, she would have given us top notch service. On our way out, we noticed an open door down the hall to a new function at Canad Inns Pembina ... it is a dinner theatre club with a 3 course sit-down dinner. We spoke with the Manager at the door and told him about our awful dining experience at the Thanksgiving buffet. We mentioned that it was obvious that the buffet area was significantly understaffed and when we saw how efficient his space was running, we enquired if he had an understaffing problem. He told us that they could not afford to have any understaffing in that area when they are guaranteeing a 3 course sit-down dinner. Timing was important not only in serving the food but to ensure it matched the theatre performance intermission. We said it seemed strange that there could be so many servers in his area and yet just down the hallway, servers were non-existent and dining was pure chaos. He told us that it was very possible that many of the buffet servers were being used in the theatre area. The dinner theatre runs every day except Mondays and Tuesdays. My advice to anyone considering dining at the Aaltos Buffet Pembina is to avoid going there except perhaps on Monday and Tuesday nights. It might be better on those nights but I am certainly not going back to try it again. Good luck to any customers going there tonight!

Went for breakfast. Kids got pancakes. We asked for syrup for them. Got told there is a syrup shortage. They didn't really seem to know what we were talking about. Eventually they brought the syrup. Cut into the pancakes and none of them were cooked (4 plates of pancakes). Never got ketchup for hashbrowns. Had to get our own ketchup from a different table. Took forever for the last meal to come out which was croissant with ham and cheese. Waited like 15mins for a coffee. Oh also there was like nobody there so terrible service. Definitely save your money .

Went for Prime Rib Buffet, after hearing it has improved. Highly Disapointed!! Steam line entree was luke warm at best, over cooked and dry. All soups were mush but warm.
Dessert table was rifled through, fruit flies, and messy.
Buffet is not worth the money, if you want Prime Rib Go to the Keg.

So, I'm at altos right now doing a review instead of eating. My husband is having the buffet. I have an eating disorder so i can't have the buffet so i ordered off the menu. We arrived at 4:55 and was seated. We ordered and my husband started eating at 5:02 while I waited for my order. I waited until 5:29 to finally get my meal. It was the simple chicken strips and fries. I have never waited almost 30 min for chicken strips and fries. When my meal came out my date was on his 3rd plate from the buffet. Everyone working were in professional chef's attire.when my meal did finally come out of the kitchen it was what i would get from a food truck.I lost my appetite after 2 bites. The waitress did take my meal off the bill in the end but I go home hungry. Never again 😒 disappointing date night

I had breakfast here the past two mornings and can say that there is extremely friendly staff who ensured our coffee was always full and had amazing attitudes.
That being said, the food was very average - something I could easily cook at home - and the fresh fruit was sadly slimy and very unappealing.
I really liked the atmosphere and the open concept but couldn't overlook the average food.

The food selection for Father's Day was horrible!! The only thing I could say I liked was maybe the corn, but that's it. Not to mention the absurd cost. For three adults $110 you could get better food literally anywhere else for much much less. Do not go here if you don't want to get scammed.
