“As the first time walking in with my husband, we grabbed a table anywhere we wanted, when we ordered the food which came in 15-20 mins later - we were amazed on how good the food was. Although it might have taken some time to be served, we felt how freshly made all of the platter was. Delicious! It was my first time trying Ethiopian food, and I honestly don’t have words that can describe how much we’ve enjoyed it 🇪🇹. We are and will definitely return to Rimyya Friendship Bar and Restaurant. They even have hookah for those that enjoy a time with friends in the evening with a beer or feel like playing some pool 🎱. They have take out if you don’t want to drive or walk all the way here especially in winter. The servers which were the owners taking care of us when we came were of the kindest, asked us if we liked our food and if we needed anything else. She offered us some coffee and even brought us some popcorn at the end of our meal 😊.“

“I don’t do this often. But every once in awhile you meet someone that just stands out. One where you wonder how you’ve gone this far in life without knowing this person. I found one of these people at the most unexpected place. My wife and I really enjoy authentic Ethiopian food. We enjoy good food, love meeting new people, love a great experience, and this place…. Has it ALL!!!! Merkato Restaurant!!!!! WOW!!! What a place. We’ve been going there as often as we can for about a year now. From the very first time Sam (the owner) treated us like he’s known us for years and made us feel right at home. He went above and beyond to make sure our experience was second to none. He succeeded. We’ve gotten to know this man quite well through our visits to his restaurant. The food is absolutely fantastic but his friendship is the highlight. The great food is just a bonus. I strongly recommend anyone to take the time and check this place out. Get to know Sam. He has a heart of gold and it’s an absolute blessing every single time. Keep it up Sam!!! “First time ordering from here and let me tell ya the food is bussing! So good! They usually don't have half and half on the menu but they were willing to accommodate and give me a plate of half fried rice and half jollof rice! Really good service. The meat pie and puff puff are also great! I ate em before I could even remember to take a photo. It's my new favorite Nigerian restaurant as it has the best fried and jollof I've tasted so far from a restaurant. The suya is also great! Not too spicy. The only thing is the photos for the suya and the snail are misleading! The snail is more like mollusks lol ? but it's spiced really good and still satisfied my snail craving.“
