Hi,

I’m writing to share some feedback about a recent visit that left me pretty disappointed.

When I ordered soup, I was told the only option available was miso soup. It honestly wasn’t appetizing to me, and it was clear I wasn’t going to eat it, yet no other option or alternative was offered. That felt dismissive and uncomfortable as a customer.

On top of that, the service toward the end of the meal was slow even though there were 2-3 tables. I believe the manager was our server. It took a long time to get the bill and to-go boxes, which added unnecessary waiting.

What stood out the most, though, was how the server spoke to his coworkers. His tone was harsh and unprofessional, and it created an awkward atmosphere while we were trying to enjoy our meal.

I wanted to bring this to your attention because it really affected the overall experience and I don’t have any desire to come back to this restaurant.

The building is very old and needs attention. Some of the sauces on the rolls were strange. Honey dill??? On sushi???? Not sure I will be back here.

Tonight I went to this restaurant with my friend Eric. .Variety of food and welcoming. It was as if the manager there, Mr. Max. gave me a good tip. I will go there again.

I have come here about 5 times over the last 2 years. Each time has been perfect! The decor and atmosphere here is one of a kind. It is relaxing and pristine. As a Canadian of European descent, this restaurant feels like how I imagine a dining experience in Japan would be. The first impression here is one of a kind. The staff are refined, pleasant and efficient. They take pride in their service and product, which is becoming a lost art in my humble view. The sushi rolls are artistically gorgeous! These are clearly made with expertise, craftsmanship, pride and love. I find myself looking at them for a minute or two and feel like a bumbling hack for tying into them and messing them up. The flavours are wonderful and delicious. This is my favourite sushi place in Winnipeg and I thoroughly enjoy myself every time I visit. Thank you for these wonderful dining experiences!

I took my niece to this restaurant on Wednesday, November 18 at 5:30 pm, hoping to give her a special experience at a larger, fancier sushi place. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment, and I definitely won’t be returning. I also would not recommend this restaurant.

I’ve visited this place several times before, even on busy nights, and never expected the level of poor service we received—especially considering there was only one other table seated when we arrived. While the sushi itself was great, the service was truly shameful.
Our server, Max, walked past our table without stopping to check in, and he even asked if we wanted the bill while I was still eating. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, he told me that he was the manager. Instead of listening to the concerns, he brushed them off and mentioned that they had “other issues going on,” which only made the situation worse. Max did want to connect how how to address the concerns. But at this point I can only share so much.

Just like other reviews have mentioned, no one thanked us or even said goodbye on our way out. I genuinely hope the owner or manager addresses these ongoing customer service problems, because that’s what truly needs improvement here.

Take your time and go down the street instead—somewhere were the staff will actually stop at your table, check on you, and treat you like your visit matters.

This is our staple sushi place. Order tonight and 4 out of the 6 rolls didn’t taste right. We will be looking for another sushi place.

It was our first visit as a family, and it’s probably the largest sushi restaurant we’ve been to in Winnipeg. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff were very friendly.

Our waiter was great — he asked about our taste preferences and helped us choose dishes we’d enjoy. Thanks to him, even my grandparents, who have some dietary restrictions, were able to enjoy the meal. The sushi wasn’t very strong in flavor, but there were plenty of other tasty dishes to choose from.

I never thought I’d have to leave such a low review for this place, but after today’s dine-in experience, I really feel I have to. For context, my friend and I are regular customers here, and we decided to dine in for her birthday this time.

I had called ahead to check for seating availability, and when I arrived, I was greeted rather coldly and seated right by the entrance. Despite trying to be friendly, the atmosphere felt tense and uncomfortable. At one point, I even felt slightly profiled, although after reading other reviews, it seems this may just be part of their generally poor service.

It took nearly 15 minutes just to get spicy mayo, and it was clear the staff weren’t communicating properly. We eventually had to flag down a passing waitress who seemed visibly annoyed to even speak with us. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. We decided to leave only a minimal tip, which felt fair under the circumstances. But as we were paying, one of the staff members sighed loudly — which really sealed how unwelcoming the service felt.

No one thanked us or said goodbye when we left, and our dishes stayed uncleared the whole time. I genuinely hope the owner or manager addresses these issues because I doubt we’re the only ones who’ve experienced this.

We used to go her all the time. I've been to this restaurant mee than 50 times. In the last few months things have really gone downhill. There use to be some wonderful friendly waitresses and now the service is awful. The quality of food has gone downhill as well. The last time we were there we had such small portions for the sashimi and the sushi didn't taste right. Unfortunately I think we are going to have to look for another sushi place. I don't know if the owners have changed but it's a shame

Food is great, service was good but we went on a Saturday afternoon after a Costco shop and decided to try the room with the mandatory 15% tip included. The service for the room was terrible and they ended up not charging us the gratuity. Besides that the food is really good.

Got take out. There was so much sauce on the sushi pizza, it was difficult to eat. The salmon in my Philly roll was over done, it was kimd of gross... the only thing we actually enjoyed was the chopped scallop roll... I dont think I'll be ordering from here again.
